Xbox wont connect after setting static IP?

I'm hoping somecan can pinpoint what's going on here.

Ever since I gave my 360 a static IP adress and opened the required ports on my router, my 360 will not automatically log into live.

If I select connect to live - I get an instant "no" from the 360 but if I go to test connection, it connects fine, then I can sign in and connect OK.

Can anyone explain why?

I'm on a wireless connection BTW.

nothing to worry about..give it a bit more time, or insert a game, when the game starts to load, i.e: when it leaves the dash, it'll automatically log in.
either that, or like i say, just give it a few more seconds, and you can then pick "connect to live".
