01/11/09 - Live issue if you have downloaded the Sky Player

Just thought I would put this up as I have been having issues tonight and sure I won't be alone.

I have been unable to connect to Xbox Live until just now. I ran a Live Test on the dashboard and a message came up saying

"-- European users will be unable to download the Sky Player. Users who have downloaded the Sky Player may experience slow or intermittent connectivity"

So if you have Sky Player and connection problems it is most likely this.

PS you only get the message if you can connect to live through the dashboard test.

That message has been there since the Sky Player started acting up last week.

not really news to me. the logistics behind this 'launch' had zero planning. its so painfully evident by the lack of the service availability now 7 days since it went...cough...live.

ive given up checking. will try again when i read about it in metro.lol

Are you implying the download of Sky Player is causing general Live problems outside of Sky Player? I've had no problems at all.

My live was seriously messing up yesterday evening around 6pm ish, just after trying to play stuff on Sky Player. Constantly buffering.

Could have been tiscali generally being absolutely pants though.
