Hi Guys

I've just ordered virgin 20mb cable broadband. I've been told by the guy on the phone at V that the modem has four ethernet ports at the rear. one for the pc, one for the xbox, one for the ps3 and one for the wireless router.

Router is connected just to give wireless capability.

Does this sound right as my friend only has one ethernet port at the rear, his modem may be old though, ?

In the past i have usually plugged everything into the router as this routes the connection to the different devices??

Any ideas on what i'm about to let myself in for...

I just wanna play xbox live and ps3 online without any issues??

Any advice would be great.

The router has 4 ports and the modem has one unless things have changed.

Agree every modem i've had only have had 1 ethernet port & I've had 3 20mb modems.
