XBox Live on a new console

For the moment I have a 360 Arcade, but will be updating to a Super ELite come November.

My question is will I be able to use my current Xbox live year membership on the super elite just by signing in to my live account or will I have to buy another Live membership?

If you haven't transfer your data before grab yourself a data cable and cd and transfer all your data to your new console.

Alternatively just recover your gamertag on your new console, its not locked to one console.

You will only have to buy a new membership if you want to start all over from fresh.

The recovering the gamer tag sounds the easiest option just a matter of signing back in?

Basically.. on your new console go to recover gametag (make sure you have an active connection) This will download your gamertag data onto your new console including restoring gamerpoints. You will loose all your saved games this way.

If you have bought any DLC you can download all these again for free using the license tool.
