Networking Issues

I know these problems have likely been covered many a time, but i couldnt find anything exactly the same as mine

I recently moved into a new flat, and set myself up with Virgin broadband. It works fine, but i'm unable to connect to it with Live via the official Ms Wireless Adapter. It picks up the signal, and claims i'm connected, but i dont get a green light. I've tried multiple Wireless adapters, so thats not the problem. Is there a certain setting a router must have to allow the official adapter to get through or something?

I'm currently using my laptop was a wireless bridge, and i can connect fine. Although onto my second problem, is Live over a laptop always unstable? i get kicked often due to a interupted connection.

Thanks for any assistance!
