Live connection via USB broadband dongle

Just wondering if anyone is connected this way?

I see from the web it is possible and it is the only a friend of mine will be able to connect if he buys one.

The problem you have will be ping - the response times to communicate to the server are huge relatively speaking, so if you were playing online you'd be very stuttery (laggy). It's fine for browsing the web, but a no-no for gaming.
