AVF Winter Warmer Gamerscore Challenge

Seeing as people are still clamouring for a new challenge, figured we should do another one.

14th Jan -> 14th Feb (ha!).

Probably last chance before the spring comes and we all go outside ..

er, we *do* go outside, right? :P

I'll join the challenge. But I'm not going to go all out as I did for the last one.

For anybody who is slightly late to this, in order to join you need to do two things.

1) Get a 360voice account, get one here.

I'll join, as an incentive to get some games finished off - I doubt I'll be going for as many G's as the last one, I'm more interested in clearing some space on my game shelf...

I'm after the 50% badge on 360v. That means I need to get 1300ish points from all my current games before starting any new ones. Easily doable, but it means I probably wont be putting a new game in my tray during the challenge.

I was thinking of setting one up also.....oh well I am in. Like others I need to finish a few games and this is what I will mainly be doing.

I am not sure I could face another all out challenge (even if I did only get ~1000 points last month - although that is double my normal rate), but I think I will sign up anyway...

Is there any way to make the challenge linked to your completion percentages (if not on 360voice then somewhere else?), so the winner would be the person who upped their completion percentage by the largest amount?

No website I know does that. It is hard to manage such things.

Hopefully TrueAchievements will implement challenges, which means those completing hard achievements will get more points than somebody who just completes lots of easy 1k games.

MyGamercard.net does but they don't run challenges - although someone could always do it my hand - MGC already has a AVF gamerscore leaderboard so it wouldn't be so hard finding all the entrants.

Would be great to do something like this - but as long as it takes the total number of games played into account so those with lots of games aren't penalised - like me...

Percentage increase x total games played (would that work?)

That's a slippery slope matey.

I chased that one too. Now I'm creeping up to the 75% one. Or at least i would be if I didn't keep buying new games. 65% is the best I've managed so far.

I'm in! Xmas killed me last one, couldn't get near the Box cos Her Indoors was off work.

Now all I need is my console to come back in time for 14 Jan

The defintion of irony. Don't play the xbox360 for 3 weeks cos of Xmas, bide my time to play all my lovely new games. Mirror's Edge, Fallout 3, Fable 2, Far Cry 2, Orange Box, KF Panda, Indiana Jones, Lost.....all not out the packet. Sit down this afternoon, switch it on.....MY FIRST EVER RROD!!!!

There aren't any rules so far.

Personally I am just finishing off games I have already got on my gamercard. MP cheevos are perfectly fine, even boosting them because that can still take a long time.
I would like to make Avatar a no go in the challenge. If you want to play Avatar do so in your own time, and not in the challenge.

Apart from that I can't really think of anything that should be banned. Of course some people will play Kung Fu Panda and TMNT, but atleast it takes a good 5hours to complete TMNT rather than 5minutes for Avatar.

Do you think it would be fine to put a thread in the main 360 section with a link to this one. I know not many people come into the Live part of the forum, and especially not the Tournament bit.

I just don't want to be bollocked by the Mods, they seem to jump on me for the slightest infraction.

Aww Greg ! Nightmare !!!! I take it you have sent it off already ? Between Mirrors Edge, Lost, Fable and Fallout you could easily notch 2000-3000 this month, although I reckon FarCry2 is quite slow to give out points.

It'll start logging scores at 0800 of the morning after you click start. But no-one can join after you click start.

After the fun of the last one, I'd hit go the night before (at midnight or late on) so it starts automatically in the morning.

i need to make sure my xbox is working ok, i seem to be getting a number of 'unreadable disc' messages at the moment, it seems to do it on games like brothers in arms h.h, scene it bos, and legendary.

not had it with other games so im not sure if its a disc fault or my 360 is on its way out.
