AVF GoW Tournament No. 3 - Schedule, Rules, Discussion

Welcome to the AVF Gears of War Tournament, Version 3!

The Schedule

Week 1 Week 2 Week 3 Week 4 Week 5 Week 6

Rules
Maps must be played as specified.
No subbing - rearrange the match if needed.
Games may be played 3v3 or 4v4.
Friendly Fire is ON in all cases.
You choose your own teams host.

Scoring
Scoring is by round, not by map - make sure you keep track of this.
Clear win: 4 points (Win by greater than 3 rounds)
Close win: 3 points to winner, 1 point to loser (Win by 3 rounds or less)
Draw: 2 points each

There will be no victory by forfeit, get all those games played!

Game Types
Execution: First to 5 rounds each map, Round Duration 4 minutes, Bleed-out 5s.
Assassination: First to 6 rounds each map, Round Duration 4 minutes, Bleed-out 10s.
Special: Execution, First to 8 rounds each map, Round Duration 3 minutes, Bleed-out 5s, WEAPON SWAPS (See table below).

@Team 2, I need to know availability for week one please. Can you post on this thread to save me having to keep checking PM's, XBL messages and PM's, plus the rest of the team will know what's going on.

Given that we only have until Monday evening to sort this out the sooner the better.

@Team 6 - Whoever your captain is, we need to arrange a start time, can I suggest we be ready to start at 10.00 as I know a few of my team only get on at around that time?

Not going to be able to make the 1st few games next week.
Not going to be able to get online much and especially not in the evening, hopefully should be sorted for the week after though guys

Team 4 - can you let me know what time you'd like to play our game on Monday?? Our lot seem to be favouring some time around 9pm/10pm KO.

Available Monday night (10pm is fine), but away on hols from 24th July so won't be able to play on Thursday night. Will be back to play our match on Weds 6th August.

You can start when you like, not intending on changing anything now except adding some Captains (if they ever volunteer!). I can play on Monday np.

And Anyway... they have removed the Chainsaw from the L85-A2 so I don't wanna play no more!

Ok team 4, from now on we're known as 'Team Star Trek'. I was holding out as being Dr McCoy but in the absence of any other taker I guess I'll just have to be Captain James T Kirk.

Chuck, guess what, you're Scotty........ & yes we need more power.

The rest of you can fight amongst yourselves over who's Spock, Uhura etc

Please post availabilities for the coming 2 weeks.

Hi Virtual,

I should be available all week aside from Tuesday, as it's my b'day and I'm out for a meal - probably still be available after 10pm though.

To my fellow team mates - I'm about to send out FR's.

i can probably be available from 10ish any day, can't get on any earlier very often though. i don't mind stepping aside if others are available for the first match though

Should be okay from this coming Friday as I have finished playing soldiers by them

Informed by Anodyne that i'm the captain of team 6 (oh poo).
Great start as skipper as i'm not about monday night as i'm on nights till wednesday so i'll be about for the second match.

@Team 6 who's gonna be about on monday and would Anodyne mind being my vice captain?

i'll be about monday though if there's a surplus of players i'm quite happy(as you will be coz friendly is on!)to bow out.could be up for some practice tonight if there's not enough for a match,be on at 10.30 after moto-gp,let me know.
