AvForums - PGR4 FCC - Season 2 - Guia Hill Park - Class E

The last round certainly was a challenge wasn't it! Started off at the start of the week looking like a time just under 2mins would win, but AC and czechmate drove the winning time down and down into the 1:56's! Once the track had been learned i found the track to be a very enjoyable one, but in equal parts frustrating. Eventual winner of round 2 was SBR Pooon and congratulations go out to the 4 others who ran sub 2mins time.

This week we're going slooooow in E class on a very short track, sub 40secs. As i write this i spy 2 entrants off the FCC already in the Top10, and a few different cars being used on the scoreboards as well. Unfortunately it seems the top times are wallrides but someone among us might be able to quicker and clean. Good luck all

Overall Scoreboard at bottom of this post.

Rules/Information:-
Welcome to the 2nd FCC for PGR4, for all you who have competed before its the same format as before so go get your racing gloves on and lay down some laps. For those who are new keep reading and i'll try to answer some common questions.
The FCC(Forum Car Challenge) is a competition that uses the time trial section of the game
Each week we will run a different track and car class(decided by a vote), the track and class are always in the subject of the thread
Yes anyone can enter

You can run as many or as few laps as you like

Laps must be run in a Car, not on a Bike

You must post your time in THIS THREAD for it to be counted.

When posting your times please post them in the following format: 1:12.34sec

If you don't have 'live' you can still take part but photographic evidence may be required to verify your time.

When posting an improved time please create a new post. Do not update your original post.

Please send a friends request to PooonTangster if you wish to enter, this will make it easier to check your times

Winner of each round will receive 1000pts. The amount of points that you score will depend on how far behind the winning time you are. To score any points you will need to run a time that is no more than 10% slower than the winning time. e.g. if the winning time is 1:00.00sec then the 10% cut-off point would be 1:05.99sec so any time slower than this would not score points.

This round will close at midnight Saturday 1st March

Please remember to vote for the track and car class you wish to run next week

Re: AvForums - PGR4 FCC - Season 2 - Guia Hill Park - Class E

had a 37.40 when i was disconnected from live. Which was nice .

The Sixteen concept- Only America could come up with something like that.

Got stuck in the tunnel side on at one point and it took me 10 minutes to get it out (austin powers anyone!)

A 36.*** should happen at some stage in the oriana sixteen conecpt.

38.22 in the boat

At least we now know to keep out of E and C class from now on.

the way i see it: so far we've ran the 2 worst cars and one of the worst tracks this season.

This isnt what the fcc is about surely?

I think it's just coincidence personally.

I think class A will be a similar experience.

I was thinking that very thing last night. We've definately used some of the crappy cars this season. Its no so bad if there are other options which are say slower in a straight line but can make up ground on the corners. But that wasn't the case with the Sledgehammer and I can't see the 22b standing much chance against the Sixteen this round either.

Still all part of the challenge thou I suppose.

I must start to look at the scoreboards of the track I'm going to vote for in future in an attempt to avoid some of these combinations.

Re: AvForums - PGR4 FCC - Season 2 - Guia Hill Park - Class E

^think its horses for courses really. i really enjoyed the last round, the loger tracks are much more by bag than the sub 1min tracks that a lot of the fcc tracks have been on. I ran a few laps yesterday in the RS4 which seemed to run ok, but there isnt much left on that one from my time if its going to be clean. the way to avoid doing cruddy cars or tracks is through the voting system, unfortunately it does appear that no thought goes into what is being voted for, eg last week someone voted for this combo so the next 3 people voted the same, so if the people that voted had looked into what they were voting for then either the track or the class wouldn't have won.

Exactly, I did just that. Saw someone voted for this combo and just went along with them without even looking what the track was like or what cars are at the top of the leaderboards.

I have thought this before on many ocassions when we end up with a not so enjoyable combo. As I posted above, I'm definately going to start looking into the track a bit more before voting.

39.26 in the Imprezza for me.

put in about 30 minutes last night. hoping to get into club thirty-eight, but we'll see if i can devote the time to getting there.

nick, sorry to disagree with ya mate, but i love driving these E cars. i tried a bunch of laps in the S4, and then switched to the Imprezza. i'm looking to try a couple other cars tonight, to see which one suits me the best.

the Sledgehammer was crap, so i used the SLR, and had a great time with it.

i'll never be as fast as some of you guys, but i'm really enjoying this. however, i wouldn't be disappointed if we decided to vote for a specific car, and just leave the track selection to the Pooon.

E class is good. What's not so good is that you need to use the Cadillac 16 if you want to win this round and make a dent in the live leaderboard.

Finding this round a touch tedious. Last round was better.

.

In the past didnt the winner of the previous round dictate where we went next.

Sure that was the way we did it in PGR3.
Although having said that there were problems with that as well IIRC.

Re: AvForums - PGR4 FCC - Season 2 - Guia Hill Park - Class E

^the following weeks combo has always been decided by a vote. It worked best back in the good 'ol days of pgr2 where each track had to be raced in a predetermined car. but pg3, in all its wisdom, did away with that so the vote was for track and class. The voting system is the best way to decide what we do next, as it is decided by the majority, unfortunately to make the best of it people need to know what they are voting for(something that doesnt seem to be happening) but it doesn't matter to me, i'll race anything(except damn bikes). So if anyone is unhappy with whatever combo is voted for you only have yourselves to blame

Hey i'll drive anything too, next week will be a shock with a car that handles. I much prefer a long track, so i'm going to vote for one of them from now.

This week's track makes me feel like a Nascar driver. Ooops turn right, ooops turn right repeat (even though it should be left)

Anyway 36.88

Re: AvForums - PGR4 FCC - Season 2 - Guia Hill Park - Class E

Well quite pleased (for me) to notch in a 0:38:12 in the 16C.

Gah, that car must be about the only one that needs bow thrusters (well did have to continue the barge/ship theme ha ha) to get round a corner.

Considerable debate on the merits of car/course and not being keen on the voting... I have to say I am not keen on the winner chosing as generally that entails the same person making the choice week after week and always chosing tracks/cars that suit them (so they end up winning again and again). As a counter suggestion if people are not so keen on the voting system then why not just take it in turns... pretty fixed rosta of people so just rotate through the names?

i would rather race tracks like these, as spending 30-45 minutes on this track can get you a LOT of practice laps in, and there's not as much to remember to improve upon. the longer tracks, if i screw up at the start, it's a LONG lap around to get it reset.

Re: AvForums - PGR4 FCC - Season 2 - Guia Hill Park - Class E

Well I for one dont mind this car/track...The car is odd and offers a different kind of challenge to throw it around the track..

As for the voting goes, how bout everyone send a vote via private messege so that others cant see whats being voted on. This is the way a tourney I was involved in did it a while back. It's fair IMO as know one has a clue about the votes except the person getting the PM.

anywho..new time for me.. 0:36.40 sixteen concept(I think 3rd is as high as anyones gonna go on this scoreboard..no way a 32s lap is possible)
