I don't know how much interest there is in this, but at least 1 person responded in the main discussion thread. I thought it'd be helpful to have a little friendly competition going to push myself onwards to get S rating in DMC4 on Human, as it's certainly proving to be a strain on my aging reflexes.

If you want to join in the fun just post up how you're doing and I'll update the first post.

I did the same, but went back to Human when I got stuck fighting Dante in mission 10.

Unrelated, I've tried at least 10 times to get an S rating on level 2 (human) now, but I just can't get the last couple of hundred style points I need to move from A to S overall :/

how did you get such a score against dante in level one??

you must have really battered your boy atthe end, i finished it in like 2:50 and it still only gave me an A

Wait for dante to get close, anticipate his attack, jump up or backwards, devil bringer him up into the air infront of you (he can't dodge as he'll be in mid-attack at this point), slash, slash, buster. (Repeat). It's the mid-air buster part that really does the damage I think.

I got a no damage bonus for that mission, which really helped the score along I think.

Edit: S ranking requirements may be useful -- I find it reassuring to know that I wasn't far off an S rating, of course it can work both ways when you realise you only just scraped an A rating

bit of an update, i have now achieved s class in missions 1, 4,5,6,7,8,9.

in mission twenty once you get the old fart down to low health inside the statue are you just meant to time your buster right to get him? this is the point it keeps messing up for me.

Yeah, wait until right as he starts the big sword charge to hit a buster. That should catch him.

I sometimes get stuck trying to reach him after dropping his shields, completely at random as most times I have absolutely no issues with him at all.

Have you tried for an S on mission 2 much yet? I've done that mission at least a dozen times, but I just can't get a S rating, been very close a few times though.

there just seems to be very few baddies in some levels. it can be really hard to rack up points in some levels. i have no problem finishing levels in an s class time, but very hard to get the stylish points.

Same here, I've got S rating in time on pretty much every level, but my style points fall short of S by a long way initially, I've found that now I'm hitting the Insta-Max Exceed gauge trick more regularly my style points are creeping very much upwards though.
