AvForums - PGR4 FCC - Season 2 - Hotel Lisboa - Class B

Well, wasn't that fun!!!!! If i ever have to drive that Sledgehammer again it will be to soon. Despite the break that lots of us have had from PGR there were some very impressive time put in with 5 of the Top 10 Live leaderboard time going to FCC participants. Big well done to AC T68 and Lightsider for their efforts in trying to outdo each other and looked like one of them would win this round, that was until the racing machine known as czechmate decided he would enter!.

Thanks to all that have taken part this week, both old and new entrants, hopefully your continue for the rest of the season

Bit of a change this week, we have a much longer track to tackle, with the World #1 time being 1:54.96sec, but there is a 4second gap to #10th so either the #1 time is very good, or there is some wallriding going on somewhere. Good luck all

Rules/Information:-
Welcome to the 2nd FCC for PGR4, for all you who have competed before its the same format as before so go get your racing gloves on and lay down some laps. For those who are new keep reading and i'll try to answer some common questions.
The FCC(Forum Car Challenge) is a competition that uses the time trial section of the game
Each week we will run a different track and car class(decided by a vote), the track and class are always in the subject of the thread
Yes anyone can enter

You can run as many or as few laps as you like

Laps must be run in a Car, not on a Bike

You must post your time in THIS THREAD for it to be counted.

When posting your times please post them in the following format: 1:12.34sec

If you don't have 'live' you can still take part but photographic evidence may be required to verify your time.

When posting an improved time please create a new post. Do not update your original post.

Please send a friends request to PooonTangster if you wish to enter, this will make it easier to check your times

Winner of each round will receive 1000pts. The amount of points that you score will depend on how far behind the winning time you are. To score any points you will need to run a time that is no more than 10% slower than the winning time. e.g. if the winning time is 1:00.00sec then the 10% cut-off point would be 1:05.99sec so any time slower than this would not score points.

This round will close at midnight Saturday 23rd February

Please remember to vote for the track and car class you wish to run next week

Re: AvForums - PGR4 FCC - Season 2 - Hotel Lisboa - Class B

sorry guys, this track is not my idea of fun.

Over 2 mins is a long time to wait if you mess up before starting a new lap, i'm just not consistant enough for it.

How many close brushes and side swipes at the railings are you allowed per lap ??????????

...although, just like the Nurburgring, you'll eventually learn it - not sure there's enough time in a week, though I'll give it a go!

Well I'm currently got a 2.09 time with the Maserati, plenty of places I can improve, it's just getting them all in the one lap

Re: AvForums - PGR4 FCC - Season 2 - Hotel Lisboa - Class B

Well I think I've got a 2:02 or 2:03 from 20 mins I had this morning. Half this lap is ok, but the other half is trickyish to learn but really tricky to learn to drive fast.

Should be fun.

2:00.56 Ferrari Enzo

I think a couple more seconds are available but I'm gonna assume the top 10 times are mostly wallrides..I just cant see anywhere so far that I could gain another 6 seconds.

who knows though..I could be wrong. Very tricky track and soo easy to lose time especially the later half of the lap.

1:59:13 in the supercar. Mid to low 58 the absolute max for me I think.

Currently 14th.

Lots of cheating going on in the top 10

Funny how that happens eh!

I tried the new C16 as well, not bad but slow at least it doesn't try to jump off the track like the Porsche.

Seriously if anyone is struggling with the Porsche try the supercar.

I'm hoping the RT12 is going to be the car for me as it's my favorite one in B class, but if not i'll give the Supercar a try, not sure about the JP thing that czech has driven, not a fan of that one

Re: AvForums - PGR4 FCC - Season 2 - Hotel Lisboa - Class B

Yeah I like it too, very responsive, but quite tricky over the bumps, where the supercar is more forgiving.

The track needs a bit of learning so I went for a car that was easier to start with, may well try the RT12 now I can do a clean lap.

Re: AvForums - PGR4 FCC - Season 2 - Hotel Lisboa - Class B

well I've tried just about all the cars there...The supercar seems to be the quickest but I cant use it..I race with the cockpit view and with the supercar I am basically turning into every right hander blindly as the view is very restricting IMO.

The jp1 I absolutley love...no restrictions in the cockpit interms of visibitity, the car handles great(oversteers but I like that) and it sounds awesome.

Which makes my 1:58:84 pretty average in the supercar.

Love the JP1 sound too.

I drive in chase mode always have since Gran Turismo 1, I can drive in the others but this feels more "natural".

Having spent another hour or so on the track I can see a top ten from one of us at least (currently twelfth)

2.00.52 in the RT12.

May switch to the Supercar for the remainder of this round. The RT12 is too "skittish" for my liking.
Having said that i'm not sure how much more time i want to devote to this round even though its early doors. I don't recall one clean lap as yet. Very frustrating being a such a long a track and one visit to the barriers and you can kiss the lap goodbye.
One good session may change my mind though

The Supercar will cure that for you, I have a few scrapes and knocks but nothing that seriously slows me down.

My 1:58 has a few knocks.

yup..The Supercar is very steady and very quick around this track just the damn in car view is too distracting for me to consistantly want to try for that magic lap.
