AvForums - PGR4 FCC - La Haute-Ville - Class C

Well what a round! Enjoyable and frustrating in equal measure i'm sure you'll agree but some of the times posted were top notch with 5 people beating the world #1 time that stood at the start of the week. Winner of Week 1 is Deano79 congratulations mate for flying the ShortBus flag to the top!

This weeks round is of a similar length with the current World #1 time being 41.24sec, can anyone get into the 40's this week? Good luck men.

Rules/Information:-
Welcome to the first FCC for PGR4, for all you who have competed before its the same format as before so go get your racing gloves on and lay down some laps. For those who are new keep reading and i'll try to answer some common questions.
The FCC(Forum Car Challenge) is a competition that uses the time trial section of the game
Each week we will run a different track and car class(decided by a vote), the track and class are always in the subject of the thread
Yes anyone can enter

You can run as many or as few laps as you like

You must post your time in THIS THREAD for it to be counted.

When posting your times please post them in the following format: 1:12.34sec

If you don't have 'live' you can still take part but photographic evidence may be required to verify your time.

When posting an improved time please create a new post. Do not update your original post.

Please send a friends request to PooonTangster if you wish to enter, this will make it easier to check your times

Winner of each round will receive 1000pts. The amount of points that you score will depend on how far behind the winning time you are. To score any points you will need to run a time that is no more than 10% slower than the winning time. e.g. if the winning time is 1:00.00sec then the 10% cut-off point would be 1:05.99sec so any time slower than this would not score points.

This round will close at midnight Saturday 24th November

Please remember to vote for the track and car class you wish to run next week

Re: AvForums - PGR4 FCC - La Haute-Ville - Class C

Go on then - I'll be first to post a time, if only so I can see this for the only time ever:

Posi | Time | Differ | Points | Name | Vote
01 | 0:43.5300 | 0.000 | 1000 | biogoo |

I guess that won't last for long A 43.53 for me in the Q1.

I expect a strong showing from Nick in this round seeing as its his favourite car! :

BTW The no.1 ghost uses a wallbash at the end of the long straight!

First dibs then, I think it's 10th or 12th at a 0:43:04. That 41.xx in 1st is very questionable with that wall bash, very blatant.

44.32 so far. It seems pretty clear cut that the Q1 (nee Noble M12) is the car to use, unlike class B where there was a variety of fast cars.

44.38 to start in the Q1 with MT

I thought that wasn't a bad time to start until I came to post only to find it's the slowest already!

Hmmm. Not a big fan of the Q1. Understeer central. 45.56 for me. Should be able to make it to the 44s, but I doubt it will get much better than that.

Re: AvForums - PGR4 FCC - La Haute-Ville - Class C

OMG what a great big steaming pile of donkey doo this car is. Why did anyone think that a car that a:has no brakes and b:doesn't turn would be a good one?

Think i've done 6laps and managed a
43.42sec
but i really cant see myself doing lap after lap with this combo like i did the last round. This car, Q1, needs to get a lot lot better, and fast!

Opening time for me is 0:45.28.

Tried using the lotus and it is so much better in the corners and braking i can probably beat my time in the Q1 but it really lacks the grunt on the straights.

44.60

The Q1's ok unless you want to slow down *and* turn at the same time. which is pretty often, unfortunately

So why is it unanimously the fastest car on this circuit?

Re: AvForums - PGR4 FCC - La Haute-Ville - Class C

Thanks very much to the developers for making C class such a pile of poo!!!
A one car class that's cherry ripe for all the PGR wall riding wally's via the
famed Q1 super steaming turd car
It understeers like a brick and has the stopping power of a well chewed piece of gum! but by making this terrible car quick it becomes dominant in C class over all the much nicer cars like the Exige which is a joy to drive.
Right Monday morning rant over and back on, i was going to post my time from last night which was 43. something but i can't remember what the
.something was so i can't
I'm home today so may have another go this afternoon and see if i can make some sense of this Q1 poo.
Good time there Pooon! you must be able to get it round corners at least

Re: AvForums - PGR4 FCC - La Haute-Ville - Class C

Glad it's not just me that doesn't like it then! What gets me about the damn thing is that sometimes it will brake and turn and sometimes it won't, even when you face the same corner at the same speed!

I think I'll try one of the other cars in the class. I'm never going to be the quickest in the competition, so I might get more bang for my buck out of one of the others.

How come the Q1 is faster than an F40? Or the Z06?

I don't hate it as much as some of you guys though. Try the Craparo T1 for real understeer!

er yeah, trying to follw my ghosts can usually lead you into trouble as i'm not the smoothest driver around so some of my lines may seem a bit 'interesting'

I think its because of the acceleration that the car has compared to others that make it the choice to go for. On tracks with big long straights it wouldn't be the car to use but on short ones where you cant use the highter top speeds of the other class C cars the Q1 is unfortunately the best

Re: AvForums - PGR4 FCC - La Haute-Ville - Class C

Hi deano i think it might be possible to take the top spot without wall riding, im no where near as fast as some like you but im getting close to the top times so on that i would say yes.

New update for me is 0:43.76

I actually quite like the Q1. Think it needs tweaking though, i would really expect the lotus to be on par on this track and be up in the top times aswell.

Hopefully be able to break into the 0:32.xx region by the end of this, i know if i get all the corners right i can do it. Goodluck to the rest of you.

Hmmm, I think it would be quite tricky. I know I can get a mid 42:00 but another second off that....

I followed his ghost last night and it's a 90 degree right at about 150mph before a tricky chicane complex, so even replicating the wall bash (never!) would be quite tricky.

The No.1 is quite clear of the next quickest.

Nope! #1 is 1.5seconds quicker than me and there is maybe 1 second to be had on my time, so without cheating it cant be beaten

Re: AvForums - PGR4 FCC - La Haute-Ville - Class C

Managed to chisel off a couple of tenths to drop to a 43.32. A different entry to the first corner helped a lot, but I messed up a couple of corners so I reckon I ought to be able to get into the 42s with a little luck.
