AVF GoW Tournament No.2

Welcome to the AVF Gears of War Tournament, version 2!

Most of you played in the first edition.. remember the rules?

Well, forget them.

-----------------------

The Schedule

Download this in Excel or Calc Don't have either? Download OpenOffice - it's free!.

Week1, Week2, Week3, Week4, Week5, Week6, Week7, Week8,
Week9

Oh my gawd, what's all this ####!! Read on.

The Week is the week in the tournament, dates are below. The matches are listed under this 'fixture, game type'.

First, the maps. There are three in any given week - you can only use these maps for the matches listed below.

The first Team in each match picks the first map, the second team then has the choice of the two remaining maps.
For example, 'Week 1. 23rd July. Mansion, Raven Down, Gridlock. Team 2 v Team 1. Annex.'
Team 2 picks the first map, say, Gridlock. Team 1 can then pick Mansion or Raven Down.

The Team which gets the first choice of map, hosts first.

If a Date for your Teams match on the Schedule is not suitable, the Captains from both teams must agree to move the match BEFORE the date set on the Schedule. The Time is completely up to you.

If a Match is rearranged, you must use the maps originally scheduled.
Move a match from Week 1 to Week 2, you still use the maps from Week 1

Confused? Go read it again, fruitcake.

The Rules

NO WEAPON SWAPS (Well DUH)
No subbing - rearrange the match if needed.
Games may be played 3v3 or 4v4, NOT 4v3, 3v2, etc.
There are only 2 maps in any match.
Friendly Fire is ON in all cases. Bad shot? Remember to shout 'DUCK' before pulling the trigger
Your team hosts the map that you choose, and you choose your own teams host.

Scoring

Scoring is by round, not by map - make sure you keep track of this.

Tournament Scoring is 3pts Win, 1pt Draw, 0pts Loss, 2pts if win by forfeit (try to rearrange matches to avoid no-shows, more fun for everyone )

Game Setup

Annex - 180 points to win, 2 rounds each map. Bleed-Out 10s.
Assassination - 6 rounds each map. Round Duration 4mins, Bleed-Out 20s.
Execution - 5 rounds each map. Round Duration 4 mins, Bleed-Out 5s.
Warzone - 6 rounds each map. Round Duration 4 mins, Bleed-Out 20s.

Open Office will run fine in Vista (using it here), you need Microsoft Office Excel for the other one.

Re: AVF GoW Tournament No.2

could have done with bleed out time being 5 sec on execution, and annex, and set the highest for warzone and assassination to give people a chance.

also on annex is there a way to change the spawn time?

Execution I wasn't sure between 5s or 10s, I think 5s is too short and 10s about right but other peoples opinions may differ. This can be changed before the end of the week .
Annex, 10s so that people can be left to bleed for tactical play, but no longer else it'd be too frustrating.
Warzone and Assassination I feel 20s was more than enough time for your team-mates to find you and pick you up. Want to avoid that horrible scenario where you're down, the other team can't find you, your team is all dead (and the maps ends, DRAW ).

No control over that..

it wasnt the 20 second one, it was execution i was more bothered about, to me it seems 10 secs is too long because someone can easily just down u and be there in time, but 5 secs u are up again.

the annex spawn is a shame, bloody annoying waiting to get back into the game once dead.

Re: AVF GoW Tournament No.2

Top job Spinke - well done mate. FYI - Team 5 name -> Train in the Arse!

Team 5 - XBL messages sent tonight for next Monday's match and the following Saturday. Please let me know availability and check back here regularly.

Please also let me know if you want me to send A. XBL messages, B. You'll just read posts here, C. Email, D. All or some of the above (which ones?).

@Kopchoir - is 10.00 o.k for you on Monday night mate? I believe we are to host and choose the map first

Re: AVF GoW Tournament No.2

Clarification:
The Team which gets the first choice of map, hosts first.

Modification:
Execution bleed-out changed to 5s (Not up for debate).

Every Team gets first choice of map 10 times, 5 between warzone/execution and 5 between annex/asssasination. Seemed the fairest way of laying it out .

Nooooooooooooo! I hate 5 sec bleed-out execution, fine for the expert players but us slow folk always come unstuck when panicking for the kill

Hi mate, got your message last night. I don't mind what way you send it, though probably not by email. I'm fine for Monday if it is definitely a 10pm start - any earlier then I'd be a no. I'm available any time on Saturday evening though

I like it with the short bleed out time, an expert player get's downed less than the rest of us incompetents so they get the second chance at life a lot less than we do.

i love execution, i hate it when u get downed from long-range and they just slowly walk up to kill u.
makes more sense to make the other player have to run quick to kill the person than to just stay far away like they do on warzone.
