AVF_Noob Gamertag

I’ve been playing Call of Duty 4 and Call of Duty 5 beta over the passed couple of days and have enjoyed the experience immensely.

I am a total noob at the game! Every match that I joined would have players that were way above my skill/ranking level. I just kept getting wiped out! Surely it would be more fun to have same level players together, regardless of what game it is? I ended up playing TDM with an AVF member with about the same skill level as me - what a ball we had! It would be great to get some of the same ranking/skilled people together to have a riot. This way we could all progress together.

Just an example: The TDM game we took part in was hilarious because we only had one kill each when the stats came up at the end. All the other players in the team had a ton of kills. So, I suppose we were bringing them down. I also heard loads of moaning from the experienced players about noobs and how they shouldn’t be playing. I can understand how they feel though, so that’s why I’m suggesting this:

I would like to create an AVF Noobs gamertag if this hasn’t already been done? You can just check the tag for friends that are assigned to it and join in. I’ll accept all the Friend requests as they come in.

To save on any confusion the gamertag is: AVF Noobs

Just my thoughts, ideas/suggestions welcome.

I think it's a great idea

It's what put me off playing games without matchmaking like CoD4, the fact that it throws me in the deep end with way more experienced players, and they have better weaponry too! If you do set one up, I can add it to the list (link in my sig).

I will see how the replies go in this thread? Do you think we should put this somewhere else, thus making it more visible? I agree totally about the matcmaking bit and for the life of me don't know why they didn't include it??

Trouble with this clans forum is it's a bit off the beaten track. Great when people know about it, like the FIFA threads, but on it's own may get overlooked.

My guess is the tag would be popular, you just need to "advertise" it in other relevant forums, like setting up a thread in the CoD forum, or anywhere else you think it could be useful. I'll bet you'd get alot of joiners (me for one!)

Hi there snorbawod its a good idea we had a laugh running around watching each other getting shot be much better playing against same type of players. The pros from over the pond that you get matched up with are right moodly cos i am not that good

Thanks for the response Munkey Boy, Will put a thread in a couple of the big (COD, GOW, Halo etc) forums linking to here. This will just save me typing out all the info again.

Lets hope we get a load of 'Noobs'!!

It's fine to put them in the games forums, the main forum tends to be reserved for general Xbox news though. Let us know when it's up and running.

n00b here reporting for action! Was pretty chuffed when I received my CoD:WaW beta key, but instantly put off by getting constantly owned by people with the best rankings and far superior skill than my own(which it has to be said is lacking.... in a big way

). Have thought several times myself of setting up a group like this so you can count me in for starters

Mind you I bet half the folks that sign up will be anything but n00bs, just wait & see

Please feel free to join the Noob brigade by: sending an FR to AVF Noobs.

Remember, AVF Noobs tag is not just for COD. Once we get a weekly time/day we can vote on the choice of game.

The poll above will give us an idea of what is the best day/time to meet up and hopefully generate some interest. I haven't put the weekend down as there are some other AVF tags that meet up and i don't wont to tread on any toes. I think the Mike Myers tag meets on Sundays and the AVF COD one meets on Saturdays? The AVF Noobs tag was created for noobs, so please can we have just relatively new/unskilled players for now.

We only have 11 friends on the tag at the moment, so come on you noobs put your name down. There must be a hell of a lot more than 11 noobs.

I don't want to rule out help from the good players? This could be a godsend when playing TDM. I don't want to alienate any of the great people on here that have been a constant help.

Hi Guys,

Just about to send a FR to AVF Noobs.

I've had a 360 since its release and I last played online 772 days ago!

This is because I didn't find it much fun to be constantly slaughtered at games online so went back to being an offline player.

However a friendly AVF noob clan sounds like just the kind of thing to tempt me back into online gaming as I feel I'm missing out big time. I just want to play for fun and not to win at all costs.

Don't have COD4 anymore but do have Halo 3 and am tempted by GoW2 especially if I'll be playing online.

I shall send a friend request either tonight or tomorrow. I'm not a noob at every game but I certainly shall be for GoW2 as I only ventured online with GoW1 a few times and felt like a spare part.

FR sent. I am very poor. Particularly at GOW, although I'm not bad with the chainsaw. Never killed anyine with a Sniper, Torque Bow, Grenade Tag, etc (honestly). Would love to play with some other people who can't manage to play every night. I'm lucky if I get on 1 or 2 times a week.

Sorry if it's a stupid question but how does this work. Do we all just look out for peeps with the AVF NOOBS gamertag in their friends list?
