AVF MarioKart Group

Ok, first of all I know this is a Wii game, but with the lack of Wii voice support this group is all the more essential in order to share voice support from the Xbox360.

Anyway, following on from kopchoirs thread found here -> linky I thought it might be an idea to go one step further and create a group tag...

.... and so was born AVF MarioKart

So any Xbox360 + Wii owners that wish to play MarioKart with fellow AVFers sharing the voice comms of the Xbox360(will be using either Halo3 or GoW lobbies for the comms), feel free to send a friends request, I'll log in at least every few days to accept.

Of course you will need to excange MarioKart Wii codes with the other members in the group as usual with MK, perhaps if each person at time of applying to join the group can pop a reply within this thread with their MarioKart friend code, that would keep it nice and simple.

Will add peoples MK Wii codes to the list here as they come in:

PHP Code:
Tetlee:             3866 9025 7720
winka
:              0946 3153 7617
Spinke
:             0602-6590-7838
Daftmole
:           2277 6748 1916
MarkWWW
:            1719 3888 4167
Dwayne Dibley
:      0946 2643 1647
Virtual22
:          3695 0166 4817
thariq
:             1418 6838 1096
Nivek TT
:           Code NYK
The Hellequin
:      1332 8943 2109
garry uk
:           2707 1919 3007
kopchoir
:           2664 2242 4181

Please delete the group tag from your friends list if you later decide to sell your copy of MarioKart, that way you make space for others and won't recieve messages trying to arrange MK games

Oh, and for those not aware how this group tag will work, it just means that you will be able to send/receive messages from other people in the group by using the friends of friends system. People will be able to arrange games through messages and then invite to 360 game lobbys(Halo3 or GoW usually) at the time of any arranged games.

Re: AVF MarioKart Group

Halo3 I own. My 360 tag is winka45, the same as my AVF (poor memory so keep most of my user namesthe same) Wii name is just winka(I thinkthats how bad my memory is).

kart code is winka 0946 3153 7617

just sent friend request to AVF MarioKart

cant wait for this, as it's probably my favorite online game at the moment(360 or Wii).
P.S, how do I get my MK code as a sig?? or if possible could you do it (Tetlee) or another Mod. Cheers

Click on "Control Panel"(under the main search tab)> then in "Settings & Options"(top left) you'll see "Edit Signature", click there and away you go

Friends request accepted(will register you as a MK friend tomorrow), also accepted Live request from chucknorris eec(any chance of popping a reply here with your MK Wii code chuck?)

BTW, hopefully there should be a few of us playing this Friday evening if you fancy joining us

If the weather is as nice as it is currently then I expect I'll be there on Friday . However if the Sun does actually appear around these parts I'm staying out!

Here's my MK code 0946 2643 1647.

I added you a few days ago, and if you've added me then we should be 'friends'! hmmmm.... actually I've added everyone from Kop's thread and they're all showing as "?".... maybe I need to get the message

The whole friend registration seems to be a bit random. I registered about 20 people already(including yourself a couple of days ago), alot of which I know had already registered me, only two are then are showing as confirmed so far.

Hopefully a few more will be confirmed by tomorrow, they better be as I'm damn looking forward to getting on the track with you lot

Yeah, same here. Some appear more or less in couple of hours, but some are still not here

Only 2 from the Wii60 crowd so far.

I may be on on Friday from about 7.45pm(GMT)
How far back is Argie' Tetlee??

Edit:- Also if anyone wants to add me to their 360 F/L feel free to send me an invite to winka45

Four hours behind at the moment, actually somewhere around that time would be pretty ideal for me as we're out tomorrow night now(which will be fine as 7:45pm GMT is obviously 3:45pm for me so plenty of time even if it's a little later).

Re: AVF MarioKart Group

Just a quick suggestion from a wii-less noob

If you're using a Gears lobby tonight it might be worth the "usual suspects" showing your online status as "Away" just in case any of the rest of us are playing Gears and start sending out the ?'s to you!

Re: AVF MarioKart Group

I still don't have any of us usual GoW/Friday night lot showing on my friends list, three friends are now confirmed, all from the general Wii forum.

At this rate we aren't going to get very far with the games we had planned for tonight, or at least me as nobody will be able to invite me

Have tried leaving my console on orange standby now incase it speeds things up a bit with the friend confirmations, seems a pretty lousy system that it takes so long after both people have registered each others codes(around 3 days with a few people already, I think SimonO was the only person that went from registering to showing on my friends list in less than 24 hours, bit random).

Anyway, will check again in a minute to see if any more of you are showing, hopfully if I at least get one of the usual suspects (Dwayne Dibley for instance) then it will be enough to make a loose chain for the invites between each others lists

Re: AVF MarioKart Group

Cheers for the games tonight fellas, was a bit of a minefield getting through the friend codes registrations to begin with but the games were great fun once we got the 6 of us online together(and actually problem free once we were up & running)

Wouldn't mind turning it into a regular Friday night early evening session if there's enough interest, great way to kick off the weekend!

Was fun with 6 so can imagine it would be a superb with a full 12 players(if we could get that many together at the same time, maybe possible). I know there are at least a few 360 owning MarioKart players we were missing tonight so hopefully it will be better still next time

Yeah, cheers guy's, great fun. Earlier I nearly gave up trying as noone was showing except Mark, and I couldnt join. So I actually turned of the Wii and was going for some COD4, when I saw the invite to Halo3.
But once we got going It was really funny.

I linked this thread in my xbox.com sig as Sign up for some Mariokart Wii60 So maybe able to get a few more people, the more the merrier!!

Sorry I missed some Mario Kart action, really wanted to play but the missus decided it was a 'quality time' evening which basically meant I had to watch some ridiculous Romantic comedy!! I just sat there the whole time watching my watch until I fell asleep!!! Arhhh I just love quality time......................

Re: AVF MarioKart Group

As per your post Tetlee, a most successful venture, I concur a regular Friday night slot is an extremely meritorious idea....

There were a number of false starts...
- Randoms joining the Gears Lobby
- restarting with an Assassination lobby, thinking randoms wouldn't join.
- we were wrong
- Create a Halo lobby, with friends only enabled. Apologies to friends who joined.
- Guest appearance from Dazza (u need to get Mario Kart mate)
- Tetlee's intermittent connection
- Markwww having similar issues

BUT finally we had 2ish hours of uninterrupted Mario Kart heaven. The only thing that could have improved it is if we coulda filled the room.

... anyway same time, same place next week then?

Hello all,

won't be able to make it 'til 10ish on Friday (6/6)... sorry .... the missus has sprung a social event on me (I gather it requires interfacing with other real live human beings in a bricks and mortar environment.... hmmmm... I'm sure I remember what to do... )

Re: AVF MarioKart Group

Cheers for letting us Dibley, hopefully catch you a bit later on, never good to outstay your welcome at these bricks n' mortar events you know

Not quite sure who's planning to be about tomorrow night and what time someone is going to host up, guess we'll sort that out as we go, I should be around most of the evening anyway.

Well as that's two of you perhaps it'll be best if we aim to kick off around 10pm if that's fine with everyone else(suits me fine)?

Anyone coming on later, if we're already playing you should see us in a Halo3 lobby, just come on in and let us know you're joining(obviously we won't see you but will hear you), we'll get you in for the next cup
