Arrow AVF PES Association: 07/08 Fixture Period 1

AVF PES Association: 07/08 Fixture Period 1
These fixtures must be played between Nov 26 and Jan 21.

It is the responsibility of the home team in each fixture to record the score and goalscorers at the end of each game. This information can be looked up in the post match menu.

The format:
D1 R1: Liverpool 1 - 2 Roma (Gerrard) (Totti(2))
D1 R1: Chelsea 4 - 3 Manchester City (A Cole, Drogba, J Cole, Richards(OG)) (Elano, Richards, Bojinov)
  • Always begin the result with "Dx Ry: ", where x is the division, and y is the round number.
  • Use the team name as it is listed in the fixtures
  • Enter the player's name exactly as it appears in-game.
  • Append "(OG)" after the player's name if it was an own goal.
This information will be all be automatically parsed into the database I am using to manage the league by a script, if you don't stick to this format you're creating a lot of work for me, when it's really no effort on your part to stick to the format above.

Do not post any results for fixtures outside of Fixture Period 1 in this thread.

All matches to be played under the following conditions:
Match duration: 10 minutes
Player condition: Random
Stadium & match ball: Home team chooses
Weather: (choose something 'wintery')

Re: AVF PES Association : 07/08 Fixture Period 1

It's the big kick off!

I know the lag issues haven't been resolved yet, but try to play your fixtures ... if you can get a lag free game going between the two of you then great, if not then post that you tried and the match was abandoned due to lag, that way we'll be able to differentiate between those that have at least tried to play their games from those that are AWOL -- A lot of people seem to have abandoned PES due to these issues, so it'll be good to see who's still committed to this.

Re: AVF PES Association : 07/08 Fixture Period 1

First result of the season:

D1 R2: Liverpool 1 - 1 AC Milan (Torres) (Kaka)

durera(Liverpool) vs bailster (AC Milan)
Liverpool dominated possesion, but did little with it truth be told. Milan exposed the Liverpool defense on numerous occasions on the counter attack, and should have been 3 or 4 up by half time. Kaka lobbed the keeper from outside the area to score the first goal of the season in the first half and put Milan ahead.

Liverpool scored a late equalizer with 7 minutes to go when the ball broke free to Torres on the edge of the penalty area and he blasted it beyond the keeper into the bottom corner.

Very little lag during the 90 minutes. But we played on into extra time (even though it didn't count for the purposes of the official result) and the game got very choppy. If the in-game network monitor is reporting numbers greater than 2000 for large portions of your game you may wish to abandon the match, as we found the lag pretty bad when those limits were being reached.

Re: AVF PES Association : 07/08 Fixture Period 1

D2 R1: At. Madrid 2 - 0 Fiorentina (Forlan, Simao)

First half was very edge with both teams struggling to get a grip of the game, the only highlight being an attempted over head kick from Forlan.
After the break Athletico pushed Rodriguez up to help support Forlan and it paid off after just four minutes when Forlan broke free on the inside left channel and slotted the ball passed the diving keeper.
Then after 60 minutes Forlan broke free again in acres of space ran into the box, went to take it round the keeper and the ref blew for a penalty for minimal contact. Simao slotted the penalty away to clinch the game.

Re: AVF PES Association : 07/08 Fixture Period 1

D1 R2: Manchester City 1 - 2 Real Madrid (Mpenza) (Van Nistlerooy, Robben)

Rule #1: Never give away stupid goals at the start of the match. (I forgot this apparently). Trying to come flying out of the blocks, I completely failed to keep it tidy at the back, and lingered too long on the ball. Full back robbed, cross, Ruud in the box unmarked to nod it home like the goalhanger he is 7 mins gone. On 20 mins, a bit of pinball in the box, and Robben mops up.

And so I went on knocking on the Madrid door, Elano and Ireland linking well to provide chance after chance, but nothing could get past the Real keeper. Until the 83rd minute, a cheeky short corner was crossed and Mpenza headed home, all too late. Man City had spurned their 13 shots on goal (9 on target) to 4 (2) advantage, and a combination of stout Real defending and poor City finishing handed Real the away victory.

Real take their chances when given to them - be warned!

Re: AVF PES Association : 07/08 Fixture Period 1

D1 R1: Valencia 3 - 3 Real Madrid (Villa(2), Marchena) (Saviola, Van Nistelrooy)

*I forgot to write down the name of Real's scorer for the last goal. It might have been Sneijder.

An epic encounter between the two Spanish giants. Real taking the lead after the ball rebounded to Saviola who took his chance with a diving header. Valencia replied with Morientes running through one-on-one with the keeper and was about to round him until Casillas took him out and he was lucky to escape with a yellow. Villa converted the penalty. Real took the lead once again with some nice work between the forwards to set up an open goal for Van Nistelrooy. Real thought they had gained the lead just before half time but in stoppage time, Valencia get a corner and Marchena scores.

The second half opens brightly with Villa curling one into the corner. Valencia hung on until the 82nd min when Miguel foolishly tries to switch the play and it ends up for a throw in to Real. Real score from the resulting attack.

A very good game which was end to end and very even in shots and possession.

Re: AVF PES Association : 07/08 Fixture Period 1

D2 R1: Villareal 3 - 3 Marseille

Villareal Scorers: Tamasson x 2, Riquelme x 1
Marseille Scorers: Cisse x 2, Niang x 1(?)

I led 2-1, a tap in and a take it around the keeper type goal with a dubious goal by Cisse who headed against the post and then my keeper smashed into his own net.Ashworthacca then took a 3-2 lead with 10 to go and I pulled the 3rd back in the last 5 mins. Lag wasnt that bad at all and it was a end to end game!

P.S. guys... if you are not hosting please dont quit the game until the ost has grabbed the scorers etc... I didnt release the screen closed down when the other party left until the game tonight.

Re: AVF PES Association : 07/08 Fixture Period 1

D1 R4 Milan 0 - Man Utd 1 (Rooney)

To be honest I can't remember a great deal about this game because me and Rudecrayfish played a fair few games last night.

From what I do remember it was a fairly even game, with both sides having a few half chances but not tucking them away. Gilardinho had the ball in the net only for it to be ruled out for offside. The game was destined for a 0-0, but about 15 mins from the end Milan had a wake up call. After an almighty scramble in the box Pirlo somehow managed to clear it off his goal line in one of those PES situations where he's just as likely to smash it into his own net. About 5 mins later and it was like deja vu as Tevez caused havoc in the box and after a couple of ricochets the ball landed at Rooneys feet and he made no mistake.

Milan created a couple more half chances in the search for an equaliser, but too little too late.

Result - Man Utd 1 Juventus 1 (Rooney) (Iaquinta)

Good game with both goals coming in the first half. Man U had almost all the chances, hitting the bar and missing an open goal late on.

I really need to work on my midfield passing, possession was 65 - 35 at half time.

thanx for the games bailster!! enjoyed it!

the big match never really seemed to get goin, with not many chances created but i would say ac had the better possession. don't really think i deserved the 3 points but a jammy late goal sealed it.

the best thing was in the last match we played mate. bailster had the ball just inside his own half on the right wing then all of a sudden the camera flies over to my keeper whos holding the ball!!!
this games just daft!!!

thanx again for the games bailster have to get another soon!!

Re: AVF PES Association : 07/08 Fixture Period 1

D2 R1: Ajax 3-2 Tottenham (Huntleaar, Lindenburgh, Urziaz) (Berbatov, Bent)

What a fantastic game, which had some great moments. Tottenham hitting the bar twice and Ajax once. Some outstanding saves by both keepers only keeping the scorline down even further!

Berbatov(14) - Tottenham came flying out of the traps, after hitting the bar in the 9th minute, Berbatov had a one on one with the Ajax keeper, hit it hard and was too powerful for the keeper to hold and spilled it into his own net.

Huntleaar(44) - Ajax started to get a passing game together and Mitea threaded a ball through for Huntleaar to go one on one with Robinson, he rounded him to make it 1-1 just before the break.

H/T Stats - Ajax (Posession 62% 5shots 4 ontarget) Tottenham (38% 6&3)

Lindenburgh(56) - Corner from the left from Emanuelson found Lindenburgh at the near post six yard line who dived to head home over the keeper and off the underside of the bar.

Bent(78) - Great work by Berbatov on the far corner of the Ajax penalty area who skipped past one challenge and then another to square it for Bent who beat Stam to the ball and slotted it home.

Urziaz(Stopage Time) - Rommedhal had the ball in the centre circle and it was 3 on 2 and with Tottenham defence backing off he ran 40 yards unchallenged then slipped a through ball to Urziaz who duly stuck it past Robinson first time into the bottom right corner of the net.

F/T Stats - Didnt get them as it went back to the title screen as I was looking at the highlights!

Overall - A draw was a fair result here i think, but it really was a very good game like i said if Tottenham two shots that hit the bar had gone in (they both hit the underside too and one was from about 30 yards if I remember correctly, great strike). Also Huntleaar had two shots from about eight yards out and in the centre of the goal (unchallenged too! no-one around him) and Robinson pulled off an amazing save and he missed the target completely with the other!
I will say this last thing, that Tottenham are a very strong and physical side, after playing a few sides online I dont think that I have been nudged off the ball so much, they were difficult to play against, but thats probablydown to the guy with the controller.

Well done SuperSportBilly, I enjoyed the game and you play the game well mate

Same here mate, really enjoyed them.

Like you said the main league game was the most forgettable. I enjoyed the 3-3 later on and the magic teleporting ball!!!

Yeah absolutely cracking game.

Brilliant summary of the match above. Dissappointed not to get a draw but thought it was over - some people on the pitch ! Stoppage time winner.

In fact the winner rebounded off the post struck by the chap through on goal - thought I had got away with it only for Urzaiz to slot home - Grrrrr.

Well played - I thought you moved the ball around very well and Rommedahl caused problems all game. To be fair you had the better of the play although we were dangerous on the counter attack although ironically you won it with a last ditch counter attack.

I thought there was more lag in the match proper than in our 5 min warmup game. I noticed that you squared to a player with an open net - who then had an air shot - not seen that before - not sure if it was lag or the ball actually never went near him. A couple of ball teleporting incidents. But overall a playable and very enjoyable match.

If all the games are like that then this league will be something special.

Good Luck for the rest of the games and I`ll be ready for the return leg at Whitehart Lane

Good luck to you too mate, if you play like that you should do very well. Like you say, your counter attacks were brilliant and every time that you came forward I was worried. Also your tackling was very good and you hardly used the slide tackle!

Yeh i noticed the lag too, you're right, when Huntleaar had that chance in the 6yrd box i was already celebrating only find out that he's only actually a Sunday League Footballer! Suffice to say that the poor cat got hoofed 20ft across the lounge!

Overall good honest football with excitement, drama and no dirty tackling. I do enjoy these AVF tourneys, proper games with proper people.

Result - Real Madrid 2 Juventus 2 (Robinho, Saviola) (Iaquinta, Trezeguet)

Very close game this one. Juventus scored first only to let one in about 10 seconds later. Real then go 2-1 up and look set to take all three points until Trezeguet heads home from a 90th minute corner.

Good game mate you were unlucky not to win tbh.

Re: AVF PES Association : 07/08 Fixture Period 1

D1 R1: Tottenham 2 - 1 Athletico Madrid (Bent, Berbatov) (Maniche)

Another excellent game which I`m sure Lisbonlion will have down as "the one that got away".

Bent rolled the defender and broke clear of the defence`s high line and hit a shot across the advancing keeper. Tottenham take the lead after 21 mins it has to be said against the run of play to that point. Spurs manage to hold on until half time. Very even at half time - 6 shots for each team with 2 each on target. Possession in favour of Athletico 56:44.

Spurs come out of the traps well in the second half - Bent broke up play in midfield and drifted out wide to float a high cross to Berbatov unmarked around the penalty spot to scissor kick home. Nice Goal though I say so myself - Lisbonlion "can`t believe it".

It must have really annoyed him because the onslaught begins and Athletico get some reward after 57 mins when the ball is squared to Maniche to smash it home from the edge of the box past an out of position Robinson.

Robinson then redeems himself with a trio of great saves along with some wasteful finishing from Athletico. Spurs also mssed a couple of chances on the break and cling on for the win.

Athletico outshot Spurs 15:9 with 8:4 on target. Sorry didn`t get final possession stats.

Athletico should have at least had a draw and will feel a bit robbed.

Well played Lisbonlion - great game - well contested engrossing game. I know that you will be looking forward to the return leg. Good Luck until then

Great games so far - this league is going to be well contested. Both games I have played so far (Pete147 & Lisbonlion) could have gone either way and teams are clearly going to be taking points off each other which should make for a close title race.

Many Thanks

Cheers for the match there lisbonlion.

Good game, we had to stop the first one at half time because of the lag. The ball and players were flying around the pitch at times. It seemed to improve a little in the re-match though which was a relief.

High scoring game, from memory I think I was 4-0 down before pulling two back. At Madrid's finishing was clinical, but it was always going to be too much to get back after falling so far behiend. By the end of the game, overall I think Munich edged it in terms of overall chances created, but a mixture of poor finishing, great defending and some top saves meant that it was a step too far.

Every time At Madrid attacked the Munich defence fell by the wayside, and considering I picked Munich partly becuase of the strong defence thats bit of a worry for future games! I'm blaming the keeper...

I'll look forward for the return match lisbonlion

Not sure how much time I'll get on LIVE tonight, but feel free to ping me an invite if you spot me and your free.

Re: AVF PES Association : 07/08 Fixture Period 1

D2 R1: Fiorentina 4-2 Villareal (Mutu 2, Vieri 2) (Riquelme, Tomasson)

I'll try and figure out some details from Stormy78 but basically Fiorentina led all the way (I think - my head was in the shed last night).

Fiorentina were 2-0 up at half time but some tactical changes from Stormy's Villareal produced a fighback. A free kick just outside the box was put away by Riqulme to reduce the deficit before Tomasson equalised.

Fiorentina somehow found their form again to edge ahead with a Mutu's sewcond of the game.

Then they secured the points with moments remaining after a 'I stuffed that one up' moment in the Villareal defence saw Fiorentina disposses the defender and get the final goal to make it 4-2.

Next time I'll make sure I take my paper and pen with me...

Re: AVF PES Association : 07/08 Fixture Period 1

D1 R1: AC Milan 3 - 1 West Ham (Gilardino, Ronaldo, Inzaghi) (Ashton)

A disappointing start to the campaign - having 14 shots to AC Milan's 5, but bailster was clinical with the breakaway chances.

Gilardino gave AC the lead from a wicked Jankulowski cross, then just before half-time Boa Morte slid Ashton through who put it away in the bottom corner - 1-1 at half time.

WHU tried to press home the momentum at the start of the 2nd half but got caught badly on the break for 2-1, and shortly after Dida making another save when Ashton was clean through, Inzaghi broke away and crashed one into the corner from the edge of the box.

A good clean game which, despite the lag which was present, was still very enjoyable - cheers bailster

Re: AVF PES Association : 07/08 Fixture Period 1

Well played mate. Really open game and like I said in my message I think the scoreline flattered me. I think I had 4 good chances and put 3 of them away.

You created far more chances and I struggled to get the ball at times. Still an enjoyable game and looking forward to the return fixture.

Re: AVF PES Association : 07/08 Fixture Period 1

D1 R3: Valencia 3 - 2 Newcastle (Villa(2), Vicente) (Owen, Milner)

A tight encounter between two of Europe's under-achievers. Newcastle taking the lead when the ball teleported to Owen running through on goal! Luckily the lag soon cleared up, and we had a reasonable game. Valencia responded positively and worked their way into to some good positions, but lacked the final ball. Eventually their goal came just before half time by the way of a rather fortuitous penalty when Morientes was "fouled". David Villa slotted it down the middle to even it up.

Valencia scored two goals in quick succession in the second half through Villa and Vicente. Vicente's goal came from a typical Newcastle-esque cock up at the back, which kindly fell into his path. However moments later, Valencia fail to deal with a corner and with some similarly comical defending the ball falls to Milner who blasted it home. Valencia managed to hang onto a much needed victory.

Good game CAS FAN, i thought we were pretty even and had an equal amount of chances.

Many Thanks
