AVF Battlefield 2: Modern Combat Clan

OK guys, by demand, let's start a clan and here's a dedicated thread to get it rolling. Sign up here, add each other to your Friends list and suggest a clan name.

Also state your BF2 skills so we can find out who the specialists are. For example I've got great long-range aiming skills and trigger-finger reactions that help me as a sniper but also I rack up the kills as a tank commander/engineer. I've taken down choppers with tank shells and can spot a tiny figure running across a hill in the far distance and get a tank round to toss him 20ft in the air as well.

Not so great as special forces - I haven't quite got the hang of knife kills or using C4 effectively. I play OK as assault and support.

Hopefully we'll have different class preferences. Not much point having a dozen AVF snipers. Unless we come up against another clan that loves being snipers and can have a pure sniper war!

I'll be up for that once I get my 360 Elite problem sorted.

I mostly play as Special Forces - gotta love the C4! I also play as Engineer quite a bit but I like to mix it up depending on the match so I'm quite an all-rounder.

Count me in!

P.S. - Clan name - something like "Battlefield Elites"? Actually that sounds quite lame, I'm not very good at coming up with names!

I am up for this. I usually play as assault or sniper, although I have been playing more a special for a bit recently.

I'll probably be our cannon fodder to be honest. I usually bomb around the maps on skidoos and, more often than not, end up with my head through a wall.

I should make some suggestions myself since I'm the creative type.

Since we're all in the UK (I assume) and it's a clan within a military game, I've been thinking along those lines.

The British Batallion
The Brittannia Batallion
The Albion Assassins
High Bodycount
The Shrapnel Squad
The Bullet Wounds
The Firing Squad
Demolition Crew
Team Bravo (or any Greek letter you fancy)

The ones I've highlighted stand out to me. Or maybe something like "Team Alpha UK"? "Team Bravo UK"? Or even "Team AVF"?

"High Bodycount" & "Demolition Crew" sound cool too - like we mean business...

I think Covert Recon has the best names - probably Demolition Crew or Team Bravo are my favourite so far.

Still trying to get this XBox 360 Elite fiasco sorted but I should hopefully be back online soon!

Leave it to me I'll do it this evening. It may be that the names we fancy are taken, in which case I'll have to make a shortlist and see what's available.

I'll invite everyone on my friends list into the clan and that should sort it.

Given that a lot of military shooter fans are going to be on COD4 from now till next year, we might have trouble filling the ranks and finding opposition but we'll see.

I play BF II regularly but dont recognise the names on here.
I am in a clan but would be happy to freelance to this one for an evening.
Im very good as spec ops(currently 37th in the rankings) and ok with other kits and vehicles.can fly the chopper but am rubbish in it!

By the way, is anybody else having trouble with stats on the BF2:MC Website?

I can log in fine, & my gamertag is associated with my EA account, but I just get an error stating "user not found" & can no longer view my stats.

It used to work fine when I played on my old XBox.

I suppose that might give the opposition a false sense of security if that clan is any good and can then tear the oppostion apart.

I think I'm trying to use a bit of psychological warfare on the other clans. Team Bravo sounds like a kick-ass outfit. We'll probably suck

I had a look on the clan leaderboards ealier on & it seems Team Bravo is already a clan... so you might have to rethink it?

I have, I inputted a few names and they were taken.

I've created Team GolfBravo, using the reasoning that GolfBravo = GB = Great Britain. If nobody likes it, I can disband the clan and start again with a new name, or you can create your own.

I can't send invites to a friends list though from the look of it, has to be to fellow BF2 players. So you guys have to be in a match with me, which are easily joinable if you keep an eye on your friends list and the BF2 disc in your drive. I played for a while last night but my friends list were in Guitar Hero, Halo 3, etc and not BF2. Ranked up though, am now a Master Sargeant.

I should be on live after 8 tonight. I might be in COD4 for some of the time though, depends if I buy it today...

Actually now that I think about it "Team Bravo Squad" sounds a bit daft since "Team" & "Squad" mean essentially the same thing.

Wish this clan had been around a while ago when I was spending a silly amount of time on BF2...

Would love to join but to be honest I think COD4 has replaced BF2 as my fave live game and I wouldn't be able to commit to playing enough

However I'll keep my eye's peeled for when Covert Recon's playing BF2 and might jump on for the odd game now and then

Dude, mix it up, have a change, I know I won't be a total COD4 head all the time. Variety is the spice...etc. Although you wouldn't think so looking at my gamertag and 'games played' icons. I'll get round to playing Oblivion, PGR and Spider-Man 3 some other day. Or month, maybe.

I've got 10 games at present and I had a few plays on R6V on Sunday night as well as BF2. The guys on R6V were mocking each other because I'm just a Pte 1st Class but I came top of the team due to all this non-stop military shooter practice that I get

I tried to get Live games on GRAW and GRAW2 as well but is it easy to jump in? Seems that the games are always in progress, or the maps being played are ones I don't like (Headquarters? How small is that map?!) or some other problem.

As someone that's only had his console 4 months I'm treating the older games as if they're fairly new, which they are, to me. Just wish more Live players would stick with the classics like R6V and GRAW.
