This thread is where car club members ranks will be once you have had at least 4 race results from official club races. Club races will hopefully be at least once a week at varying times so hopefully everyone will have a chance to play.

In order to calculate the rank, I'll be using the TrueSkill calculator designed by Microsoft for use on Xbox Live - you may have seen your TrueSkill rank on many online games - this is no different.

The unique thing about this ranking system is it not only takes into account your race history, but also the more races you've registered the more certain your rank will be, which also adds to your score. Essentially, it means the people at the top of the leaderboard will have raced alot and won alot - just how it should be.

The best thing about this system is that not everyone has to race all the time, but you are rewarded for having more races.

There is some rounding here - I've cut it to the nearest integer to make it easier to read. The spreadsheet linked below shows the full scores.

Please note that this is a conservative rank - the lowest possible score that the system thinks you could be, with the average score being 25. It becomes more certain (and therefore higher - more certainty results in a higher conservative rank) with time as you compete in more matches, and at this early stage shouldn't be taken literally but more as an indication. It takes alot of races before even an average player would even reach 25 though, so keep putting in those results

Below are links to both the TrueSkill calculator and the spreadsheet I use to keep a track of race results from official club races. If anyone has any questions, fire away.

Know what you mean but its just a case of knowing the track and which corners you can push hard and the ones you absolutley have to slow down for. Theres a few corners that constantly get me at the moment but as i learn the tracks better things are improving.

Think its still to early for the ranking to really mean anything yet, give it a few months and i think it should show a pretty good indication of where we all stand.

P.S. Bit off topic i guess in this thread so feel free to move it Munkey. Would it be possible to make a sticky on racing manners. Below i will post a few ideas for it.

1. The car infront has the rights to the racing line, anyone behind must either follow or take a different line. To take over the line when trying to pass your front wheels must be inline with the person infront before the corner.

2. No swerving to block faster cars, you can make one move to protect your line only.

3. If you take a car out pull off the track and let them get back infront before returning to the race.

4. If your car becomes unstable it is your responsibility to avoid any collisions. Taking your foot off the gas will slow you down but usually get the car stable again, it is very hard to get control back when a car loses it so better to slow down than crash. If you slow down and get control you will lose some time but it is better than losing time and crashing and getting damage.

Just some rough ideas and if its to much no problem but anything to enhance races i would like to see. Still early days but so far the racing has been great and we have all made mistakes.

Yeah, he dropped me a message last weekend saying he might make the Sunday race - he never did, but good to see he's still in touch anyway.

I'm not going to read too much into it as i've only raced twice, and being a newer member i suppose i had more to gain, especially after my poor first showing at the Viper/Corvette races where i ended up going for handling over speed - wrong choice!

This time round, my Jag wasn't quite quick enough off the line for the likes of the Tommy Kaira's (which was almost my first choice of car), but it seemed to have a slight advantage on Silverstone.

Enjoyed the races, looking forward to the next lot......

It's quite reassuring just how well the rankings stack up with my experiences of playing with you guys - the ones at the top are there on merit, no doubt.

I agree monkey the table does represent on track very well. We should consider starting a new table at the end of every GT mini series, still keeping past tables, would be intresting to see how things change.

If someone could please add an extra 8 hours to everyday and a working forza disc id be very grateful.

Don't forget there's more than meets the eye in those scores (they don't show the decimal places here) - they aren't quite equal, but very close indeed - one race could change it all!

I don't think I'm unlucky, just rubbish at tuning cars and too inconsistent. If we had a league for unmodified races and modified races then maybe it'd be slightly different (hmmm, gives me an idea!).

I'd agree it'd be good to reset the stats every now and then to keep things fresh, or even have different sets of stats for different types of races. Opinions welcome!
