I'm in, preferably on the wing or centre, as I can't defend, although Richie and Zeeks might argue that I can't play on the wing or in the centre either

I'm still undecided whether to get this......

Oh go on then.. put me down if I have to...

A note about the positions.. Someone posted a link about the differences in 11 from 10 and it looks like the positions are a bit more 'set in stone' than 10. Ie if you are good as a winger or C, you will be lame in D. This means we prob need to decide rough positions so people can 'spend' their points accordingly before the games begin per evening.

You can meet up in the games room and sort your positions before looking for a game, so you don't get that embarrasing stand off whilst everone decides where they are going (or getting called a feker by the Z man lol)

it sounds good!

I'll be calling you names no matter what mate as you dont wear a headset to answer me back.

In NHL10 I didn't mind where I played; I preferred playing as a centre but I also liked playing in defence and never had a problem being the one to move back there when there was more than 3 of us on. I think organising on here (or in the games room) beforehand whos playing in what position for the night is good but also people will have to be flexible and be prepared to move positions each night because if theres say 5 regular players the chances are the majority will want to play as a forward, so we'll need to be fair and everyone have a stint in a position they maybe don't want to play. Changing per night rather than per match would imo be the most conveniant way of doing it?

This may not make any sense but i'm dying from man-flu at the moment so thats my excuse.

PS...Being the sad case that I am, i'll be doing what I always do; writing down my preferred stats for a forward and for a defender so I can swap and change between the two when needed in the minimum amount of time.

I trust you'll be publishing those in the play and help thread when it's up and running for those of us who are too lazy to work it out for ourselves?!

Oh, and it looks like I'll be on the 360 version this year too!

Can I put you on the list then mate?

Think all be a pro talk should be kept in here though as I will no doubt be tinkering with my player deep into 2011.

I prefer a forward role as it's what I do best at, sticking the biscuit in the basket.

Me too, if last years is anything to go by

On every night until the wee small hours, kept promising myself a night off or finishing by 11pm, but never seemed to be able to stick to it

I'm really not bothered where I play, I'm equally rubbish whatever position and again, if it's anything like last year, I'll be spending most of the games in the box

As for stats, I'm nowhere near a good enough player to notice any difference as to where I add my points. I leave that to the experts

I'll play as and when guys. As long as I can pass half decent when I do join in then stats can go fudge themsleves. Lost all my stats in FIFA 6 months in and still came back and held my own in the club so load of rubbish half the time. Thought I did alright over on PS3 for hockey too and my VP has hardly any points added to him.

Will take it off PS3 rental list as no point keeping it on there now seeing as most have vacated to 360 (poor Cols but he can play footy with the PS3 club now so he's the winner really ).

Won't be a regular but would like to be in the club nonetheless

Good man - having sworn that I'd give this a miss this year, I am now stupidly excited about this. And it comes out the same week as Halo!

How many times have people bought and sold a console though? If I was him I'd stick with PS3 for reasons he's already mentioned.

Cake!!!

Not read the nhl11 thread for a few days hence the delay. Yep count me in for sure, though im away on release date, so send me an invite and ill join when im back.

Already thinking about the late nights already, though its gonna be fun this year for sure. Good to see Richie & you back on the 360.

Ill play D, as got quiet good at it, and ill probably go for 2-way D to start of with.

I did read that there's only going to be one dressing room, so only 6 can play at once. Might cause a few issues depending on people around on certain nights, though im sure we can sort it out. I could always play in goal! lol

That would be crap! Hope they don't do that in FIFA too as we have loads of players who will want to play at release time. Numbers dwindle after that but we still have many a night when we would need more than one room!

Yeah it seems to be the case there's only 1. Maybe it's implemented differently so you only need one?

One dressing room seems a bit daft, especially as it looks like we'll have 9 or 10 players.

We've also played against teams with like 30+ members so it seems a bit weird that they'd take away the 5 dressing rooms.

it`s to stop teams from cheating, teams that had 20+ players would play 2 vs 2 so by having 5 dressing rooms other players in that team could play at same time and boost ranking points, reason why teams were winning nearly 100 games in the first day of release,

me and novahob linked up well at the end of clubs in 10 and i am really annoyed at EA for this release date for europe 10 days after the yanks get it

More importantly are you in?

If it is only one dressing room and can only play with 6 at the same time, we'll split into two teams and when numbers dwindle we'll all form into one team again.

We also have Wibman9 to add to the list

Is it worth shouting out our favoured positions?

We could add them to the first post so people can get a quick idea of who likes playing where? Maybe I'm thinking too much

Anyway, ideally i like anywhere on the right or C, so:

RW, RD, C

Basically, I just want to give Richie lots more work to do ;-)

Nah pointless, just everyone make up a defender and an attacker, jot down the stats so chaging can be done really quick. you'll never know who is on till that night anyhow.
