I'll be on later tonight (after 10) if anyone else is on for a game or 2. I've started be a pro last night (as a goaltender) and although it does take some getting used to, i'm enjoying being in goal. Signed by LA Kings

Re: AVF Otters - NHL 10 BAP Team

Hmmm. Is there any possible way of sneaking another 360 into the house. The game is fantastic, but no-one on the PS3 forum is interested....

Re: AVF Otters - NHL 10 BAP Team

Go on Fuggler, you know you want to.

BAP this year plays so much better than last year imo, no cheesy goal after goal, being able to play a physical game without getting sinbinned every 30 seconds....

Took us a few games to get used to it yesterday and we lost our first 5 games (albeit they were all close matches) but once we got in the groove we started winning more than we lost. Absolutely loving it at the mo...

Getting decent comms is a bonus of having it on the 360 this year as well, as last year on the PS3 they would cut out quite a lot for me (although in an ideal world I'd own it on both consoles )

sounds good. send me or one of the other GM's a friend invite and we'll invite you to the team. we may get a full team out tonight and that's worth a few achievement points tonight ;-)

Always room.

Are we going to sort out positions before before we play?

I can play across the front 3 and I'm really bad at defending.

Fuggler you know it makes sense mate. we won 6 games :o

that would be a good idea. I'll give defence a go if others don't want to play there.

As mentioned on OGC, send me an invite buddy. I will jump on about 9ish too for a game. Would like to try different positions out as I'm new to NHL games (well I haven't played them properly for years anyway).

I know most the rules so should be OK (at passing at least).

Looking forward to it.

Remember it's PU6HY and not SJP76

OK mate but don't be crap LOL

Play a wing position first as defence and centre is critical. Set your character BAP camera to ice as this helps.

Re: AVF Otters - NHL 10 BAP Team

I will give this a proper go later in the weekend - had a FR from nova so hope to get in that way.

Loved 09 but never played EASHL BAP - played a lot of offline BAP - I prefer to play LW or Rw but wouldn`t mind a crack at defence some time too.

Do you tend to use headsets ?

I used the BAP camera in the past - is it better to change it to Ice then ? I found it a little easier to score from the BAP camera - harder to pick out passes mind.

Cheers

You were like a roaming defender and I thought you played really well in the position.

I have decided that C is my best position.

See you on Sunday night chaps.

Cheers for the games Sinky. Like you say, we started off slow but once we got into the swing of it again it was good fun.

I think you were easily the best out of all of us at defending, although that doesnt mean you have to play that position all the time of course.

Richie was great when he disconnected and the AI took over control of his player.

I'd like to comment on that spectacular, scorching, top corner overtime winning goal but modesty prevents me. Although for the rest of the night I was as effective as Heskey upfront.

Re: AVF Otters - NHL 10 BAP Team

I had to jump ship guys as I was almost in noddy land when playing. Went to Wemley for concert on friday night with teh wife and I was absolutely knackered in the end.

In the games I played, we didn't pass the puck about that much imo. I noticed our oppo moving it about a lot more than us and not skating down the rink so much with the puck.

When the defenders get to the oppos blue line, there were no passes back from forwards to try a slapshot either. I'm new to this so maybe with the low stats, it's not worth trying that?

Still, I enjoyed the games overall and will hopefully jump on tonight for a few games.

I don't mind playing anywhere tbh as long as I get a bit of the puck, I'm not fussed as anybody can end up having a shot and everybody needs to defend aswell anyway.

I agree with the slapshot thingy mate. I really struggled as a "d" man, I prefer center.

Maybe we should split games so it 3 playing one and 2 the other so we dont overcrowd our own team. Then when we get better try to play all positions.

Re: AVF Otters - NHL 10 BAP Team

I might try goalie tonight if I can have a game or two off line to practice ;-)

I agree with steve that we probably might need to pass puck around a bit more (though we have had some good passing moves), and it will come the more we play together, and as we get used to the new passing system. Anyway see you guys later.

Your league invite has been sent, check your player hub. Everyone who is playing now uses head sets, as it is easier to talk when playing. Camera angle depends on personal preference. I'm using ice at the minute :-)

Re: AVF Otters - NHL 10 BAP Team

How the hell do I get points to boost attributes? I only play online so I won't be building a pro offline at all.
I haven't earned 1 extra point yet!

The thing is, I can't be arsed messing about with things all the time as I just want to play instead of hanging around all the time (OK my fault last night but now I know how it works ). Anyway, my player is just set as a Centre and I haven't changed him yet regardless of where I play. Is there any point changing the player position? Wouldn't I just try and build my player up as best as I could (if I ever earned some bloody points!)?

We thought you gone and nicked Zeeks Donuts .

You get the initial 40 points on the three categoies to apply to your player, i think thats in MY PRO, EDIT ATTRIBUTES. I believe you then get more once you reach the next level, which i believe is at least 20 games onlines and maintain a C grade, you can check this in MY PRO, PERFORMANCE TRACKER, RB to go to the online tab.

I don't think it matters to much about changing your player (it's personal preference), though a centre will probably have better face-off stats to start off with than say a right winger. I hope that helps

Great. Thanks. Will look at that later.
I was talking saying who we waiting for aswell
