Anyone help with a valuation on a faulty 360?

Got a premium with the 'unreadable disc' error. Happens very rarely but I reckon it either needs a new drive or a lens clean.

I'd be selling the box itself, power brick, component cable and wireless controller.

Anyone help with what to charge?

Hi, I just sold the box only with a similar fault for £40, and sold the brick from my new one for £15.

Fix it yourself mate, a lens change is a 10 minute job, and the laser is about a tenner.

I can talk you through it.

They do it a lot, it will say dirty discs yet be fine in other machines. (the discs).

The laser assembly is pretty cheap to be honest. It's certainly something i would do before selling it, unless the op wants rid anyway.

Yeah I want rid. Bought a new arcade with the HDMI connection as it really improves the pic on my 42px80.

I'm rubbish at anything DIY related so a lens change may be difficult? Would it improve the value of it much?

Mate, Xbox's break a lot.
It would really great for you to keep this Xbox as a side project type thing for when you'r Xbox does break. I would reccomend letting Nick Pavey having a look at it.

Lenses are easy to replace if you were good at mecano as a kid
Failing that an easier option is to buy a new drive of the same type and put your pcb in it. 4-6 screws a few leads out and the pcb out, your old pcb in put the case back on, jobs a gooden

How would you go about doing such a thing? I've been hoping it would produce the RROD for ages and it's not having any of it!

As yours is only showing laser troubles it wont be too easy. People wrap them in towels, usually only though if they have had red rings previously.

I got a PS3 last year because I was too scared to turn on my Xbox 360 for fear of an RROD. Since then I haven't kept up to date on the Xbox 360 scene. My Xbox is out of warranty as I bought it in 11/2006. However, I vaguely recall reading somewhere that the warranty has been extended to 3 years. Is this true?

Sorry for going off topic!
