Stolen 360

A friend has had his 360 stolen, he has went to trouble of buying a new 360 preowned; but does anyone know what happens now with his account can he recover gamertag, achievements etc onto a new hdd. .

He should be able to just retrieve his gamertag on the new 360, assuming the person who stole it isnt using it.

It might be an idea to see if anyone's using it by monitoring games played and achievements earned. If it is being used, it might be a way for the police to track it.

If it is used online and you can get the IP address, it can be tracked that way as long as the ISP will give out the details. I have done this with NTL before and the "new" owner was very surprised.
