360 Camera and Console pairing...

Hi guys,

Does anyone know if when you plug the 360 camera into your console that the camera gets paired with the device in any way?

The reason why I ask is because with the onset of games coming out where you can map your face onto player models for multiplayer modes, can I just take my camera over to my mates house, use it to map his face on his game and then take the camera back to mine?

It wouldn't suprise me if MS has in some way prevented the 'privelege' of the use of in-game face mapping to users who do not own a camera. Perhaps the game only allows the face map image to be used in game if it can detect that a camera is plugged into the console?

Does anyone know if MS have implemented anything like this at all?

Cheers.

Yeah what I mean is for the face mapping technology, you wouldn't necessarily need to have a camera once you've mapped your face onto a game. You could just have one camera between a group of friends and each borrow it to map their face for say Rainbow 6 Vegas.

It would be great if you could map your face into the games without needing xbox live! If there was just some way to take the picture with the camera!

As soon as you boot your 360 with the camera attached it unlocks the camera features in games, you dont need to have the camera still plugged in to keep the settings.

Thanks.

So we can just pretty much hand the one camera around to map all our faces onto the game before doing the co op missions. Great

It would stil lhave it's uses in single player as you do get to see the face of the player model now and again. In R6 Vegas when you crouch behind cover you can see the characters face...

Great gimmick imho

Good point mate.

You do see alot of your own face in the single player game.

That point has made me want the camera now.
