My mates 360 on my 43 xde,should i worry

Hi everyone, Thanks to everyones input on this site with regards to my final choice of screen, make no mistakes the Pioneer does have the edge, and i am a fussy f@^&*$ ,anyway, my mate is bringing his xbox 360 round at the weekend, should i have any settings in mind for first time gaming, the screen has been run in like a finely tuned engine . I am sure that the picture improves daily, absolutely no hint of any screen burn ,retension, or any dead pixels (May 06 dated screen), i know they had probs in 05 up to Nov,..Thanks again, great site..

I have the same model as tv as you porky, and I have had it for about 9 months.

My xbox360 i fear is killing my screen. I have also had the xbox for about 9 months, and it was ok for most of the time, however over the last month or so, the retention has been hideous. And not just off the console. For instance tonight I had Sky sports news on for about 30 minutes, and when i turned it over, all of the scores were already burned in and I can still see it now, so much so that I am actually on the web because I am just about to mail Pioneer direct to see what the hell is happening !!

As i said it is getting progressively worse and I have not upped the contrast/brightness etc at all - something is wrong.

Re: My mates 360 on my 43 xde, should i worry

I have a 506xde and use it quite regularly with my 360, currently playing fairly long sessions on Call of Duty.

If you use the Game profile, set the Contrast, Brightness, Colour etc. to the same settings as your normal TV viewing and you should be alright. I found the default settings on Game were much brighter than I thought was safe for the TV.

As an extra precaution I normally put my TV on standby if I pause a game for anything over a few minutes.

If I had to ignore any game it would be Hexic HD, as I had awful retention of the games outline after playing a long session with it. It did fade eventually but it had me worried for a while.

Hope that helps.
