Picture slightly offset on my new LCD TV

Last night I was playing Rainbow Six: Las Vegas on my new Toshiba 37WLT66. WOW! Anyway... I noticed the pic was a bit offset - you can see your "visor markings" on the screen and I could see the right edge but the left must have been about an inch offscreen. Anything I can do?

Re: Picture slightly offset on my new LCD TV

How have you got it connected to the TV.
What resolution are you running it at?

Re: Picture slightly offset on my new LCD TV

Im guessing you have it set up via VGA? if so, set resolution to 1024x768 then use tvs controls to make it widescreen and hey presto - perfect.

Re: Picture slightly offset on my new LCD TV

Sorry, should have said. VGA (Official cable) and resolution 1360x768. I did wonder whether changing resolution could affect it as I'm not really sure which res I should be using at the moment. (any advice there)

Incidentally, does anyone know why one of the resolutions (1280 by 720, I think) produces a green picture? Is that expected?

Re: Picture slightly offset on my new LCD TV

The Tosh will display at 1360x768 (16:9) no matter what it says in the manual, then use the TV to centre the picture. 1024x768 (4:3) set to widescreen just stretches the picture, to test this put in a DVD and watch how short and fat everyone one is.

When i play my original XBOX which does pog through my VGA it comes through as green (all the blacks are green), and no I don't know how to change it. But just so you know it is 'normal' for that TV!

I have mine at 1024 x 768, set to 16:9 on the 360. it displays a perfect picture on games and dvds, centrered and certainly with no stretching!

Re: Picture slightly offset on my new LCD TV

I also have the 37WLT66 and was just wondering if you guys have tried the component cable? If so, which do you prefer?
I actually use the components and have never tried the VGA. I know a lot of it is also down to personal preference but i'm lovin' the PQ through component. Cheers
