You can use the original headset, but you cant use the block thing so you ant quickly mute the mic or change the volume of the headset.

As for question 2 I have a simple question: why buy it?

You can't save onto the Datel hard drive, you have to have either the official one or a memory card (HD all the way!). All the Datel drive actually is is a usb external hard drive in a "fancy" case.

I think you'll find that the headset in its entirety is called the Communicator. The block thing being a Connector.

I can't believe youv'e still got that attitude towards other forum members when you have been proven wrong on numerous occasions this week. Do I detect a hint of sarcasm with the explanation marks? You know what they say about sarcasm etc.

Congrats on ignoring the new sticky warning at the top of the forum about thread hijacking.

Further congrats on your continuing use of snide and sarcastic comments trying to make people out to be idiots, when you yourself single handedly claimed the award for biggest ignoramus on the whole of AV Forums with your recent DVD thread comments.

Apologies to the OP, just sticking up for the guy who tried to answer your question.

As this thread appeared near the top again, I just realised you might be talking about the XSATA from Datel. I don't think it's on general sale yet but chances are that lik-sang will stock it, when it is released.

[edit] Just found a thread about the XSATA HERE. Someone might post more info there closer to release

No its not, as when I have asked for a replacement Microsoft clearly label it as the Communicator also I think its also labelled as such on the starter kit down the side where it lists the contents.

That's the first thing I checked before I posted my reply, it cleary states "Talk in-game with the Xbox Communicator". There is a picture on the front, a picture of the headset with the text "LIVE communicator" beside it...it's all in the research. For fear of taking this thread further off topic than it already is, I'll leave it at that.

When you use the orignal headset on the 360 you will be allot quieter to other people who you are playing with.

ie 360 headset = 10/10 for loudness to others.
original xbox = 5-6/10 for loudness to others.

With the new 360 headset you will be allot louder and clearer to the people who you are playing with.

I hope this helps.

well said, now you guys shut up lol
Anyways, about the headset, Datel have just release this:
http://us.codejunkies.com/shop/produ...l=1&ProdID=419
Yes, thats what these guys are calling the Communicator/Connector/Block thing
so now you can have just about any headset plugging into the 360 controller, with the ability to mute and change volume! cool int it!
