Opitcal connection on HD lead

Just bought a Premium 360.
Went to connect my optical lead but it's a very loose connection. Theres no click. If i just touch it comes out. I have had to use some tape to keep it in. Has anybody else had any similar experiences. I cant figure out if thats normal on all leads or should I take the lead back to the shop where I bought it.

Common problem, its a design fault in the official MS leads, some optical connectors work better than others though.

No, your optical lead is almost certainly not the problem in this case. For more info, have a look at this thread that I started a while back, dealing with exactly the same issue:

Hope that helps!

Thanks Croker, that was helpful.

One day I'll change the lead, but for now I'll improvise. Incidentally the optical lead is the same one I've been using on my old Xbox for years.

My joytech optical lead for the original Xbox is pretty loose, but the optical lead I got for PS2 actually fits quite nicely
