Question Joytech or Microsoft VGA cable?

I am looking to buy a VGA cable for my 360 and was wondering if it is best to get the Microsoft one or go for the cheaper Joytech which is only £11.99 on Play.com? any recommendations would be appreciated.

Thanks

Martin.

I have got both and i can say there is no difference in quality what so ever. If technicaly there is, it is VERY unnoticeable.

I would still chose the Official one for the following 3 reasons :
  • It is alot better build quality. It is thicker and feels better.
  • It is the Official one, and sounds better if you want to sell you 360.
  • You get an adapter to plug in the 2 phone cables to your HDTV.

So if you have the money they buy the the official one. Others have said that the Monster VGA cable (£50 or more) is very good, but im sure they are just trying to justify spending £50 on it, to convince themselves it is better ..... but probably isnt £50 better. Plus that one doesnt come with an ioptical cable

I had the joytech one, because i could'nt find an official one at the time, but then i got an official one, and to be honest it is far superior to the joytech one.

I am very confused now.. as I dont have either the microsoft or the joytech one, I got a mad catz one! It looks great at 1366 x 768 resolution but now I wonder whether the microsoft one can give better pic/sound?

Can anybody confirm the difference, if any, between the mad catz and the microsoft VGA.

Thanks

For me it would depend on what screen you are going to be using it on.

I only use my 360 on my 19" TFT and use the Joytech cable[as I could only get that one at the time]. The PQ on it is more than acceptable and I wouldn't dream of buying the official one as I don't feel there would be any difference.

However, if I buy a second 360 for downstairs to use on my PX60 than I wouldn't hesitate to buy the Monster cable...

OK, I gotta 40" Samsung LCD, so pq does make a hell of a difference (tried playing mega drive ).

I am not too sure about buying a monster cable over a microsoft one, will there really be much difference?!?

I have just ordered the Joytech one simple because it has gold connections and has the optical cable...

Does the official one allow an optical cable to be plugged in?

Doesnt matter I guess since my new Samsung LE32R74BDX has optical out.

I need to know if I have made a bad choice with the Joytech and will cancel the order then.

If your only going to be using the Samsung than I would go with the Monster, but it is up to you whether or not you are willing to pay the extra...

Hi , can you really justify buying a Monster cable. I myself was thinking of getting one of those, i already own the official vga cable, will a monster cable really make a difference.

It depends. If I was using a panel of over 32" or over than I would definately recommend the Monster...

I have a 42" PX60 that I don't use my 360 but would buy a Monster cable if I did use it. I use my 360 on a 19" TFT and wouldn't go down the expensive cable route as I don't feel the smaller panels benifit as much from high end cabling.

Thanks for your quick reply, i have my 360 connected to a 26" sammy, so maybe i would'nt get the full benefit of using that cable. I think i will stick with my official one for now, maybe i wil get one when i upgrade to a bigger lcd.
thanks once again.
