Call of Duty 2 Game saves deleted

Hi I was recently playing COD2 on Hard (already completed normal) and for some strange reason I was booted back to the russian first level. I was half way through the campaign. All the other levels I completed on normal/hard are now locked out. It seems my game saves have gone.

Anyone else had this problem?

yup. get it everytime I finish a campaign (russian or british). Haven't been able to get to the American ones as it dumps me back at the start! Currently have the first Russian and first British one unlocked.

Apparently there's a patch coming out but I'm shocked this bug even got past testing!

Apparently the key is to boot without the disc in, then log into your profile. Then load the game.

I have also been taking the precaution of choosing save and quit instead of continue mission at the end of each mission.

I have had the exact same problem too so the game has been put on the shelf till a fix comes out and if not it will be gathering dust. I guess activition dont have a QA department....shame.

There is a cheat to unlock all levels though, its

Open the mission select screen in the game:
Press and HOLD the left and right bumpers while doing the following:
left, left, right, right on the controllers D-pad
then hitting the Y button twice

Cheers guys. I thought the patch was for online play - people floating in mid air etc??

What is strange - this bug did not happen in Normal mode.

I will try some of your suggestions later today and see if they help.

Yes it does happen in NORMAL mode cos it happened to me,lol

Cheat is the only way to go for me - i have lost the saves about five times now - have only one acheivement unlocked and thats how it looks likely to stay until they patch the game for this issue!

I played the whole game through on Veteran, no problem?

If you always ensure you are signed into live before the game starts you should be OK..however I lost my normal save after the tank level...I haven'y lost my veteran path (at Rommels last stand) but I always save my game save to a memory card when I pass a difficult bit (which is a lot on veteran)
