360 - 3 month Warranty?

My 360 is being delivered on Monday, but I was round at Colgate7110's house earlier for a test of his new machine.

What's the deal with the warranty? There is a leaflet which appears to be for the US offering you the chance to upgrade your warranty from 3 months to 2 years, as a service cost may be $100 - but then it asks for a charge of £49.99!!! and it has a UK postal address!! ***?

Is this legal? Surely all new goods in the UK come with a years warranty, or are Micro$oft going to pull some Californian law which overides the powers that even God has...

Rant over - Anyone any ideas?

I asked this in another thread and was told that in America they get 3 months warrenty but in Uk all electrical goods come with a minimum 1 year warrenty.
Dont worry your machine is protected for one year

Thanks Crazzy - still a bit sneaky of M$ to try and sell you 9 months of a warranty you don't actually need! Is this one of Trading Standards

I am confused as well. there is like a warranty fold out form inside that says in certain words cover your xbox from 9 cents a day.

so that made me think it was for for the USA only, but at the bottom of the form there is section were you fill it in then send it off. works out at £54.94 for 2 years extra cover.

think I will pay it as 3 years total cover.
