Quick question, need a quick answer. 360 arcade & mw2.

Hey all, getting myself an arcade just for mw2 today. The internal memory of the arcade, would that be enough storage for my gamertag & my mw2 save? Cheers all. Out shopping now. :-)

it says on the box that it only needs 5mbs for the save, not sure how much space a gamer tag takes up but i cant seeing it being more than the internal memory (256mbs?) otherwise it would be kinda pointless them doing an arcade console at all.

Hi Guy, I have just managed to get a 60 gig pro from Sainsbury's for the price of an Arcade, £149.99 (£143.99 with Quidco)

you can fit any game saves and profiles you want on the internal memory. The only thing you can't fit is downloadable content

It's not necessary to have an HDD to play online, no.

But is for some games, Burnout Paradise I believe requires HDD for online play (probably due to the size of the patches for it!)

Its recommended due to DLC but as Munkey said its necessary

The internal memory of a "Jasper" arcade (256MB, though i believe the newer ones are 512MB) will be fine for just a profile - they arent that big, mine is big in terms of profile size but is probs about 20MB- and some MW2 saves

If you want to install games (360 runs quieter and cooler) then you would need a HDD as well as if you want to play games online and wish to later buy any DLC that follows then you will most likely need a HDD

Hitman: I believe the patches are ~1.6GB so would explain it

You cant save anything exept the NXE on the internal memeory as it doesnt even show as memory in the options. All i get on my brand new elite is my 120GB HDD and 256 mb memory card.

Anyway with arcade you get a free 256mb MC anyway! BTW prepare to be disapointed as MW2 is a big fail!

My advice to the OP would be to get the Sainsburys/Morrisons Pro deals

Just make sure to get the Jasper.

If however you are getting a bundle deal of an Arcade with MW2 then I would say to look on ebay or the AVforums classifieds for a cheap 20GB drive.

You should be able to get one very cheaply.

I say this as the 360 makes a heck of a racket without the games installed the hard drive and 20GB is more than sufficient for your needs.

Considering the price of a 360 with an HDD and the price is costs to buy an HDD separately, I wouldn't ever consider getting an Arcade. If you EVER intend to use Xbox Live in any way you'll instantly regret not having one.

Ah, thanks for all the info guys and gals. Anyway, I got rid of my Elite about a month back cause I'm in the process of up and leaving the UK for a job in Sydney. My friend offered me a really good price and I took it. Anyway, over the weekend I played MW2 and loved the online multiplayer, and because I'm now off work till I get to Oz 3 weeks, I was thinking of getting one just for MW2. So last night I played a £2 game of poker online a game and won just over £100. I'm going to get a Aussie xbox when I arrive, so I thought Id just get one, and leave it here for when I come home for christmas.
Anyway, long story short. PC world pricematched the Game offer of an arcade and MW2 for £150 with 10% off, plus I had a voucher for another 10%off so got what I wanted for £130. So I'm pretty happy!
Plus, the onboard memory is enough to run the new dash, gamer profile and cod offline and online.

Thanks again for all your help guys and gals!

You no longer get Memory Units with the arcade the "Jasper" arcade has a 2Gb/4Gb Samsung NAND chip which is used as an internal memory unit and the 360 "sees" it in such a way (you get 256MB/512MB minus the reserved system space)
and that is your opinion on MW2, the OP likes it
