Need some help please

I bought a 360 elite just the other day but i have a problem.Firstly i had a 120gb on my old xbox and tried to move saved games etc using the transfer cable to the new 120gb on the elite but it would not work, all i could do is recover my gamertag to the new HD which i have done.
I have got my hands on a memory card and today i tried to move my saved games from my old 120gb on the memory card and it said sign in,so i went to sign in and it wont let me and i think its because i have recovered my gamertag onto the other 120gb(new one)
I created another tag on the old 120gb and again tried to move saved games and nothing

So now im stuck and thinking i've lost all my saved games unless someone on here knowns a way round it

Thanks

Is it possible to put my old HD back on the new elite and recover my gamertag to it and wipe clean the new 120gb and start all over again

Put your Live profile on the memory card and you should have no problems moving most saved games to the card and off.

Exactly what i was gonna say

As it will probably want to check that you arent nicking the saves without them being yours

It will mean however that you wont be able to take as many saves over

Out of interest if you are gaining nothing with size why not keep your 120GB drive, put it on your new console and sell the other one? or is the old one a grey one that was sold separately and so wont go with your new elite?

Had to ring xbox support up as i was having no joy at all they told me to delete my profile and download it again and they took my email and new serial number.
The bloke said my profile was corupt,so got rid and started all again with the saved games on my new 120gb HD after using memory card and its all ok now

Couldn't you of taken the old HDD out of the grey case and put it in the black one or would that void the warranty.
