Gotta admit, it feels pretty good

I've had this particular Xbox Friend on my list for some time now and realised that his Gold Membership expired pretty early on. This was in spring. I was recently browsing individual Profiles on my Friends List and comparing achievements till I realised that he hadn't played on Live ever since that spring. In fact, he plays the same missions in campaign on his limited amount of games. I contacted him and asked when he would get Live or new games. He replied he doesn't have much money to spend on things. He is quite young, 14 and incredibly polite. He's a good kid and deserved some thing

Tonight I sent him an Gold 12 month subscription code that I purchased for him. Suffice to say he was very grateful but the best part of it was when I saw his profile playing Online Multiplayer for almost 8 months. I am almost 23 years old and although I'm lucky to be able to afford the games and material items that I desire I don't have the time to put into those games. So giving a kid who doesn't have much something like LIVE was probably the best moment in gaming I've had in years.

Just wanted to share this

I've called Teh Sun to report this story; "Yoof in altruism shocker! - ban this sick filth!" do you think "Altruism" is too big a word for their editors? But it's nice to see people being selfless, you only hear of young uns knifing each other usually...

@AVRocky - if you know what games he has/likes i could look thru my pile of unplayed games and donate something to him via you? I buy stuff, play it, and leave it on the shelf, and it would be better to know someone needy was getting fun from it.

Nice thread, good to see some people being generous in any way they can. There's a guy who often gives games away on the classifieds.

Only trouble is, that now his mum'll be on to you for giving him the chance to get on live, his behaviour declining because of what he's learnton live etc, not doing his homework and failing at school because spending too much time on live... hehe. The list could go on!

Congrats on being able to help the chap though! nice one

Top man. Makes me feel like doing something similar. Does anyone know if there are any plans to do a charity sale thread as in previous years?

not really, it depends on their attitude, my nephew is on live all the time and he's getting A'S and the odd B at school. in fact he just got an excellent report on his work the other day.

This has inspired me to give out all my 48Hrs that I have hanging around and never use (not much, but some people do need them)

I've got a stack of games that I should get rid of aswell but just got of 12. Need to get rid of more so I'll give that childsplaycharity a look

That's awesome, I thought I was the only person who did these things.

Are 14 yr olds even allowed to do paper rounds now?

I was lucky being able to start one at 11... and then get work in a shop by 13.

How times have changed.

Well I'm late 20's and need funds to purchase my first xbox so I can bring my Kids up to worship its glory. I think this beats being 14 when it comes to getting xbox assistance Only ever played it a work, tough job at times.

What a lovely thread this is, that's such a nice thing to do.

I like to believe in what goes around comes around (whether that be good or bad) although i'm sure this isn't the reason for your kind deed, i'm sure one day when you really need it someone will help you in the same manner

Top guy, that's made me feel all warm and fuzzy inside, who says this world is full of selfish horrible people?!
