Do 60GB 360's come with Component cable?

My mate has just got 60gb 360 from argos and recons the picture looks crap on his plasma and i said you are using the red blue and green component connections or HDMI arnt you and he recons it only came with a cable with red, white ,yellow and a scart block. I told him that i thought only the Arcade 360's came with just the red, white ,yellow cable and he should go back to argos and ask for one.

So should he have had a component cable do you recon?

Yes, they are supplied with the Component cable - are you sure he hasn't left it in the box (it is in a separate wrapper/bag to the scart block)?

EDIT: Here is the product listing for the 60GB 360.

Component cable is clearly stated in the included accessories.

I'm sure the Elite I just bought only had a red, white ,yellow and a scart block. I never opened the packet, but remember feeling it and thinking it only had 3 connections. They've stopped putting HDMI cables in too.

I got an Elite from Amazon this week and it had the Component cable in the box. I know this because I included it with the sale of my old 360.

Your elite was probably pre price cut stock as the latest version post price cut only has the composite cable (no longer the shared composite/component cable

I bought an ellite from game on sunday and this was the case

Mine didn't have the shared composite/component cable. It had the component cable, composite cable, AV block. It certainly is not old stock btw (I've had three Elites now).

EDIT: You probably also read the thread where somebody got an Elite from Argos the other day and it was supplied with an HDMI cable. I can't help thinking there are a number of different configurations potentially supplied in these boxes!

I would get him to go to Argos and ask why the cable is not there - their description certainly lists it as included.

There aren't any new 60GB ones, they will all be old stock as the 60GB model was discontinued.

I'm the guy referred to above who bought an Elite from Argos a few days ago. There was a HDMI cable in the box and it does say in the Argos product description that one is included in the pack. There was also a cable attached to the outside of the packaging but this was removed by the sales staff before they handed the product over the counter. I didn't collect the package myself but on reflection we think this may have been another HDMI cable. Bit strange!

I don't think I bought old stock as I've been told that my machine has the 'Jasper' chip - I think that's good!

HDMI is better than Component hands down..
As above poster stated, cheap cheap..

We have the 60's being sold in Oz atm for about $400 AUD = 200 quid, with, 5 games, Forza 3, Halo 3, GOW 2 and 2 others, quite good value IMO..

Hope you guys are getting similar deals, if not better..

I recon you could buy gow 1, 2 and halo 3 for less than the cost of MW2 so the deals seem about the same £199 for 360 with forza3 and MW2

EDIT : OP, You can buy a perfectly good HDMI cable from argos for £5 just go with that
