No rumble feedback on wired pad...

Hello all.

I was just playing COD4. Today I got a wired 360 pad through, brand new. It works fine, but I'm not getting any rumble on it in play....

I tried my old wireless again and the rumble worked fine.

Is rumble not a feature on the wired version? Sometimes, I can feel a very faint movement within.

Is it faulty or do I need to change anything? My profile and game setting both have rumble enabled.....odd....

Yeah it should be working, i have 2 and both work. (one disconnects randomly so spose that dont work).
But yeah the vibration should work as normal in wired pads.

Open it up and see if theyre connected. Theyre fairly easy to take apart mate, just be sure to use the right tools. I have a kit specifically for 360 modding so I dont know of any alternatives. Its like a star though with a hole in the shaft.

Thanks for the replies.

Think I'll give that a mis Dao though, I only received it today and want to make sure they exchange it.

Whilst we're discussing it, does anyone know of a regular, all black skin/shell for the wired pad? Loads for the wireless but can't find any for the wired version.

Something like this would be top....

I have one... Gorgeous Matt Black

Its modded though, its made of a funky material that is like silk to the touch. Using plastic pads after is sooo hard.

Re: No rumble feedback on wired pad...

I'm presuming that the system had vibration on your normal pad (and that you also had a normal pad!) but either way, there is a setting in the menu somewhere I think (preferences or suchlike) where you can setup the default button layout (not that I've seen this actually come into action) and also the vibration power. Although the vibration power might have only been in game for some game or another. Check your settings, it's not in the 'system settings' I don't think, if memory serves correctly it's more in the preferences section.

My memory is obviously crap, just checked and it only has 'Vibration on/off' in the preferences section. Check there in case the pad has defaulted your system to 'Vibration off' and check the other settings menus in case there is a power bar thing

Re: No rumble feedback on wired pad...

Thanks for the replies guys.

Rorifett, I've already tried all of that. Thanks for the suggestion though.

H3adShotz, I just looked on play, do you mean the modern warfare one? It's darker but not totally black....I am looking to pair the controller with my PS3 once I get the cross battle adaptor so for the sake of aesthetics I want a black controller. I'm surprised that there isn't a wired Elite pad, that would be perfect.

Dao, the one you have, I take it that it is for the wireless pad?

Once again, thanks for all the help everyone. I am going to return it.

Re: No rumble feedback on wired pad...

That would be great if you could, I'll keep looking myself though, only seem to get 3 search results.

Just an update on my original problem.

I connected the pad to the second usb port on the 360 and I am now getting vibration feedback.

Strange. Seems there was some sort of conflict, but it seems to be working now.

EDIT: This skin might work though
