Hi all,

I've just got a 360 elite and thought id tell you about the fun and games i went through in order to acquire one. I did have one originally at launch but sold it however a friend came round last week with guitar hero which i had never played before and well i was hooked. Certainly has come on leaps and bounds since they were 1st introduced.
I decided to go for an elite with a free wireless pack (£199) i wanted to go with Currys as i wanted to get it on credit. Unfortunately my local Currys only had the elite not the wireless pack in stock but a store 30 mins away did so i reserved one Friday evening. Saturday morning i got up bright and early and headed off at 9am to pick up my new toy. I got to the store about 9:45 as there was a bit of traffic. Anyway i picked up my elite along with GH:WT and headed home. When i got home i immediately got her out but to my horror i had been given a used one. Although the box had a security seal on it the console was not wrapped, the accessories were out of their packaging and all over the place, there was even a disk in the console!. I immediately phoned Currys, the annoying thing is you cant speak to the store but get stuck with their customer services. They apologised and explained i needed to go back to the store to exchange it. I wasn't happy about this considering a return trip takes just over an hour but they wouldn't budge and told me i had to go back. So 5 mins later im back in the car, i get on the motorway and im suddenly stuck in a queue. Turns out theres been an accident (why cant people just drive sensibly?) anyway one hour later it's all clear and i eventually arrive at the store. They were very apologetic and happy to do the exchange, the only problem is they didn't have anymore elites. They phoned up my local shop who do have one and reserve one for me. Im now back in the car travelling home. The annoying thing is i have to drive past my house to get to the store. I picked up my console and eventually got home at about 2:30, a good 6 1/2 hours after my initial outing.
Anyway that's my lil rant over. Im really enjoying the 360 and GH:WT is immense fun.

Pick up Rock Band....you will have alot more fun

Also could you of not tried Comet at the Orbital Centre ?
Or Curry's in town ?

Rock band much better then? can the guitar from GH be used on that?.

All the currys in swindon didnt have any stock of the wireless bundle. Chippenham was the nearest place. I didnt check comet as they dont offer finance and well that was the only way i was going to purchase the console.

I found Rock Band alot more fun than GH:WT
And it also has alot more DLC than GHWT.

PCW and Curry's are the same company (and have the same deals for the most part) so you could have tried there aswell if you have one nearby.

seems you were just a little unlucky with the stock situation and in fairness to curry's their staff seemed helpful enough.

Didnt think of PCW to be honest. Im not knocking their staff, i found them very polite. I mean they gave me £20 off GH for my troubles. Was just annoyed with what happened.
