Wheres the learning curve in this game?!

ive been playing on professional since I got the game, started to find it too easy. So felt it was time to move up a level, now trying world class…
its ridiculous, I cant score any one on ones when the majority went in on professional, and the computer score literally every chance they get. i have no chance of winning a game, if im 1-0 up late on the computer pushes so much they will create a chance. really frustrating cos theres no point playing when its too easy, but getting irritated on a harder level aint much fun...
ive thought about staying on professional and dropping a league but that means starting a new manager mode.
anyone here playing well on world class? any tips for scoring one on ones?!

I think you just need to stick with it

I remember when I started in 09, on Semi-Pro I think, was finding it so easy, I went up to Pro, for the first half dozen games, I was lucky if I got a shot in, let alone scored, but eventually after plugging away for a while, it started to click and I can win fairly easily most of the time and am about to make the jump to World Class myself.

I'm fully expecting the same intial frustrations, but I'm sure it'll come good with enough practice.

yeh your right, but I hate the fact the computer seem to score 9/10 chances they get. Really frustrating, and they don’t shoot from distance unless they score.

Re: Wheres the learning curve in this game?!

There's 4 of us at work playing manager mode with Newcastle on World-Class, and we've taken a beating a few times this season. You're punished for every mistake, which is very lifelike, but at the same time, the computer does miss the occasional chance, again quite lifelike!

I should add that we all work for a videogames company, and having played the game an AWFUL lot, we should really be able to turn the computer over every time!

The left trigger is the key - learn to use this properly and you will suddenly find yourself winning the tussles for the ball and the long ball over the top of the defence can start to work as your striker will try to outmuscle the centre back

I'm playing it on legendary now. It takes some getting used to the higher levels but soon enough you'll be there. Just remember that FIFA is a very realistic game. If you want to score 1-on-1 then it'll be easiest if you open your body up, hold the finesse button and passing it around the keeper. Doing this with the players' strong foot makes a huge difference.

Defensively, you will get punished if the computer gets a 1-on-1. To stop them doing this, always jockey (LT) whenever you can. I NEVER use the pressure button, as all it does is pull a 2nd player out of position and mean they can pass it straight through your defence for an open run on goal.

For long range shooting, I often change my player positions around so that left footed strikers play on the right, so that I can cut inside and curl shots around the keeper into the top corner

Hope that's at least some help to someone

Re: Wheres the learning curve in this game?!

playing legendary mode now with leeds. really good fun, mic of results, goals, gameplay. altho the board seem harsh even tho i put them down to semi pro. lost in the carling cup to a last minute middleborough goal, 2-1, and they said i shud have beaten them. nonsense!
but still concede some awful goals where the keeper just doesnt respond. always feel like im capable of scoring, something which didnt seem likely in fifa 09.
