I guess it would depend on what you skill level is and what kind of racing you like.

I've only played the DiRT 2 demo but I just kept on crashing. Personally I really like Forza 3 as it has loads of cars and customisations. There is plenty in there to do.

I also find Froza 3 to be very accessible as you can add and take away assists like auto-braking and driving line.

There should be demo's for both so it might be worth checking those out.

What sort of game are you after? They're quite different - Forza is probably the best tarmac track circuit game on any console, while Dirt is a damned good off-road aggressive bunfight and a lot more arcadey.

All depends on what you want from a racing game really.

Only played the demo of Forza 3... but much like 2nd Forza it kinda left me cold, although I do appreciate it's a good game it just isn't for me.

I picked up Dirt2 in a sale a month or so ago and really like the drifting "arcadey" feel it gives. Gives me more of a thrill anyway.

So for me Dirt 2 would win out... there are demos for these games on Live so my suggestion would be to try those and make your choice.

I was in the same boat , but decided to go for Forza 3 the way i worked it out is as it is newer it will have a higher trade in value than Dirt 2 , so when i have completed it i can go and trade it for dirt 2.

The way i look at it is pay one price play 2 games

You can get Dirt 2 for less than £19 from shopto.net and it's a really good game and worth more.

Personally for an extra £19 get them both and you wont lose much on trade in if any.

I think he means Dirt 2 is £19, so you get both for just £19 more than just Forza.

He's right it was my fault, rushing and not thinking too much about what I was typing!

Here's a related question for you all, then; Dirt 2 or Grid? The latters only £10 at Play.

Dirt 2 for me i just didn't like Grid.

Plus the rally stages are really good fun on Dirt 2, i'd prefer pay the extra £8.

Buy Forza 3 for whatever it retails at then pay an extra £19 and get Dirt 2 as well.

Win win situation for the original poster, if he can't afford to get both then go with Forza 3.

never got into GRID at all. Enjoyed Dirt 2 to a point and have not touched Forza 3 since WM2 came out.

Personally i would buy Dirt 2 if you are wanting a bit of fun or Forza 3 of your after more of a simulator, If i remember the demo or dirt 2 wasnt great.

The Baja level of the Dirt 2 demo was decidedly off-putting, but I enjoyed the actual rallying bit. Mind you, I hated the drifting bit of the Grid demo even more.
