Private Lobby - "Friends Only"

What happens if you have a private lobby with "Friends Only" switched off? Does this mean people can enter your lobby via match-making?

I think that it means thatg people can join the lobby from the recent players list. I think the matchmaking is completly separate so you couldn't get anyone from that.

Re: Private Lobby - "Friends Only"

I think if it says friends only on the screen then anyone from your list can join the session in progress if they see you are in a lobby it will give them that option but if you press the X button and it says invite only on the screen then they will not be able to join you unless you invite them. I think

Ah, so probably useful if your hosting a lobby for people on the Forza Casual list, who might not be on your friends list - if you switch "Friends Only" off then people from the GamerTag can join directly without an invite.

If 'Friends Only' is switched off, it just means anyone can pop in the lobby, via 'quick game' or searching for options you have set up.

I'm gonna try balancing Forza 3 and MW2, so should be around for some races.

Re: Private Lobby - "Friends Only"

I am not so sure about this because the only 2 options are "Friends only" and "Invite only"

Does this mean someone can request to join a private race without an invite 1st?.
I couldnt join a game last night other than to set up a new private match and invite people, seemed a bit rude when others were already racing so I stayed in the public slamathon.

I'm just guesstimating here as i;m not at my 360...

If your hosting "Friends only" must mean any friend on your list can join without invite.

And "Invite only" must mean only people you invite can join.

As for opening it up to anyone i dunno?

Spot on

Opening it up for anyone...no chance. There are no search-able custom lobby's anymore like with Forza 2

Re: Private Lobby - "Friends Only"

Yes this is exactly what i thought. But Zooks if you see someone on your friends list in a private race it should give you the option to "Join Session in Progress" if the lobby is not full

NO

the only settings for private lobby are "friends only" and "invite only" which you can toggle between at any time once you are in you own lobby

if you are running a private lobby and you set it to the other option "invite only"

it means others can only enter if YOU or someone else in YOUR in the lobby invites them

hth

btw "friends only" is the default setting
