Are all your races the same?

I do like this game but i'm just finding EVERY race in career seams the same.

I start at the back (why every race? ), i'm up to 2/3rd before the 1st/2nd corner (depending on track), then for the remaining laps, i'm trying my hardest to reach the lead car who's normally too far away to reach, and i finish in 2nd, or if i there's lots of corners in a track i manage to get 1st, buy out breaking him.

Just seams to have got a bit repetitive.

The lead car NEVER makes a mistake, there's always 1 car way out in front alone, even if my car has a higher points score.

A.I. is on HARD level, and i have everything off apart from breaking assist, and i have automatic gears.

Re: Are all your races the same?

It can be a bit of the same allright.
What get's my goat is why the AI bash you into a spin all the time when they are behind.

Re: Are all your races the same?

Mark - what year are you in on career? i think you move up the grid for each year you complete, i'm on the 3rd year and start 3/4 on the grid, apart from the world championship races (or whatever they're called) where i start 1st as i'm leading the championship.

As for all the races being the same, yeah it kinda happens like that, there will always be 1 car much quicker than the others, with the cars placed 2nd/3rd fairly quick (but once you pass them they seem to slow down?!?!?!). Catching the lead car on races with 2/3 laps can be a bit tricky but on the longer tracks/races you'll probably find your in front by say lap 4 of 6

Grid positions go up depending on level

Lvl 5 - 7th
Lvl 10 - 6th... Lvl 35 1st

Re: Are all your races the same?

doing your own breaking would help an awful lot, take the plunge and practice with all aids off and manual gears - engine breaking ftw!

Re: Are all your races the same?

If you are playing on hard, the best tip I can give is to tune your cars. At the moment there is a 10,000cr cap on buying tunes and paint in the Storefront so grab them before the cap is lifted. I'm currently lvl 36 playing hard with no assists and many races I'm winning with a 20-30 second lead.

Re: Are all your races the same?

I'll try it with breaks off, but no way can i do manual gears, its just too much to think about.

Did it online with a few AVFers, (as it was forced), and i ended up putting it in reverse bout 4 times at the corners.

Winning every race by 30 secs sounds boring too, especially as your starting on pole.

I want some variety, there should be a option to randomise each and every starting grid.

A.I. should make more mistakes when alone, i've seen 2 A.I. go at it and cause mistakes, but when there's 1 car in 1st, you may aswel finish the race there and then cos he will NEVER mess up.

I've just started the A-Class Championship, so if you can recommend a good A-Class tuned car, i'll buy it.

Re: Are all your races the same?

Yeah there pretty much the same, your only ever racing the lead car for the first lap or so than it's cruising around at the front until the checkered flag which gets boring fast.

Only way to make it tougher is to drive a car weaker than the AI, even then you can still win by a margin, and it's trial an error as you never know how fast the AI lap. Bigger grids and more challenging adaptive AI would have cured this.

As for an A-Class car, just buy the best car the AI are driving and you should win fairly easily, no need to upgrade.

If your really stuck are post my Audi A5 or Lexus IF Tunes then you win by laps.

Re: Are all your races the same?

Have to agree single player can get dull, either finishing way ahead or being stuck behind 1st, depending upon the AI setting. However MP is a different matter, had some great races over the last few nights with friends and some AVF members.

It took me a while to realize there are so many options for setting up MP such as having a random grid and forcing the AI to have the same car class as yourselves, plus many more. Once you get a group of real people, with full damage and collisions on then its a completely different experience.

Re: Are all your races the same?

I tried soem of your ideas at weekend, tried break assist off, manual gears, chooseing same car as leader.

Dint help at all, or dint feel right.

So i bought a AUDI and got a tune from the storefront, which helped, as i won the 1st race of the championship.

Thanks for help, but it does show that if you tune tweak or buy a decent car/upgrade, you can win without altering your assists.
