MS wheel, crazy ?

Stay with me on this ?.

I want to play FM3 with a MS wheel, but before i buy one i need to ask a ?, i have zero feeling in my feet so i cant feel the pedals, can you customise the wheel to use the paddles for gas and brakes, or the A and B buttons.

I used to do this with an old force feedback MS wheel on my PC a few years ago and wondered if i could do it with the 360 MS wheel too.

Re: MS wheel, crazy ?

yes you can, i think it is control layout 3 on the wheel to use one paddle as the accelerator and the the other as a brake

Re: MS wheel, crazy ?

But they're not analogue like the pedals so won't be quite as good. I know it sounds obvious but thought it was worth mentioning

Re: MS wheel, crazy ?

The paddles? Thought they just clicked but having just tested them (not with the console on though) they do actually have an analogue movement.

Can't test them right now so I guess I'm probably wrong and they are analogue. Never really noticed it before as I usually play auto so rarely use the paddles.

Sorry for the duff info

you play auto???.... you wuss

its worth getting used to manual.

a small amount of effort and will decrease your laptimes for sure.

using gears to slow you down as well as brakes is really effective.

Re: MS wheel, crazy ?

Just to wrap this thread up.

I got the wheel on Sunday and was amazed it worked so well just sat on my lap, the force feedback is very powerful and i had to turn it down to about 50% because it was a strain on my wrist's, not sure i need a wheelstanpro or not, i'll use it as it is for a few days and see, once again thanks for the replies guys.

Your right, the paddles aren't analogue, but they are better than nothing in my case.

Thanks for your help,

No, they are definitely just on or off, not analogue.

Thanks,

Mark.

Hi, got it in gamestation for £59, they price matched the deal from Game, if you buy forza 3 you get the wheel for £59 instead of £69, but TBH if i had known how good this wheel was i would have bought it months ago when it was at full price.

Yes, on Friday, but they did the deal when i took my receipt in on Sunday, even if you have to pay £69 its worth every penny of that, i think game are also doing the deal if you buy anything in store, sure i saw on another thread that some guys were just adding the £0.99 gift wrap to get the deal.

I bought the wheel a week ago, £70 from game. I don't like it on my lap. I guess it's personal preference.

Just thought I'd stick this in...

I've ordered a WSP.

Yes, i cant believe how stable it is on my lap, but please remember i'm not using the pedals because of my medical condition as in my OP, it may not work as well on your lap if you intend to use the pedals as your likely to move your legs up and down a bit as you push the gas and brakes, having said that my mate got one yesterday too and i watched him use it on his lap with the pedals and didn't have any trouble with it.

Re: MS wheel, crazy ?

Looking at the WSP have any of you owners tried it without the pedals attached, reason i'm asking is i want to know if it would be as stable without the weight of your feet holding it down.
