Disappointed with lack of update to painting feature

So I've been messing with the painting/decal for the AVF bike and have to say i'm rather disappointed as there appears to be no difference or enhancements over FM2!

Sure the actual visual interface is cleaner and the models higher resolution, but the number of layers appears to be the same ( I think), don't seem to be any new pre-made decals, no useful tools such as distribute, align, or repeat (with move/rotate i.e able to make rows, cols, grids, circles out of repeated shapes), basically nothing to save on those time consuming, fiddly things you end up doing thousands of times over.

Just rather surprised since I thought i'd heard and frankly expect some considerable leaps in the features.

Also don't understand why the blur appears to be done using poor gpu tricks as opposed to simply running a proper blur filter. Sure it would take a fraction longer to do, but would be a vast improvement.

agreed, really suprised theres no extra layers, exactly same as last game.

Only real addition is the grid, and not having to creat liverys in the mini roof.

I only ever used a few decals, maybe more layers as DLC???

wheres the grid mark? i know i should bur hey ho..

As for repeat, you can just stamp using y then reposition.

E.G if I am trying to recreate a logo with an altered font, i will just get the look i want with the first letter then stamp it the number of times required to spell the word. when its done simply change the shape to the letter you need and all the height width and skew are kept.

does that make sense?

Click the right thumb stick for the grid.

Which is time consuming and inaccurate. What i'm talking about is a tool you'll find in most vector or 3d packages, to specify cloning a shape N number of times, with a set offset/rotation (local/world) to be made at each iteration. This makes generating say a ring of shapes a couple of clicks as opposed to the frustration and time wasting of hand placing everything.

At which point i'll probably start to not bother buying games anymore, if what you're buying isn't the whole game. Far too much movement in this direction for my taste already, with standard game components, often already on the disc but you have to spend more cash unlocking.
