cant be true. anyone confirm this? THis is as bad as modern warfare 2's back stabbing no custom lobbies(ie dedicated servers) bull crap they pulled on PC users

You can set custom lobbies but only invited friends can get into them. If your wanting a game with randoms then you have to go through the matchmaking system.

FOR NOW...untill the servers are fully open on friday

you can still set up a lobby with friends and race any class or type you wish right NOW

Thats good i dont really like these new matchmaking systems i's rather pick the lobby i want if it is randoms i am racing.

Just had a quick online game with randoms and it would seem things haven't changed with the spinning you off on the first corner

It'll settle down though after a couple of months (maybe less with MW2). Forza is the current 'big thing' so anyone and eveyone will play it i imagine. but once the next big thing comes along (MW2) the 'casual' gamer and/or non racers will move onto that like flies round tihs

Every racing game is like that and it won't change unless no collisions are an option.

unless you play with a good group of like minded friends...i have no problems at all but then my friends list is full , they are all good clean racers

i generaly dislike racing with "randoms" but i dont shy away from it, if they are good racers then all well and good, if they are idiots then i just leave the lobby and report them

To be fair in the lobby i was in out of the 8, 3 were idiots and once they were passed the 5 of us left had a very good clean race.

I am pretty new to Forza, I had Forza 1 but skipped 2 due to timing.

I cant promise a clean race but I will try my hardest and if I do bump I will apologise. I can imagine, much like the team killing in FPS', some people get their kicks out of screwing up other peoples games.

Not very happy about this, sounds like another attempt to make the game more accessible to the casual user at the expense of the more serious racer.

I don't have many friends on my list and 99% of the time on FM2 use to play in custom lobbies with assists off and collisions on, full damage, tyre wear etc.

So can you even browse a list of servers like FM2?

i bloody hope there is a browser. like i said, it appears they are pulling a mw2 on this game and had this game come out on the pc i can bet you a million pounds their would be a HUGE uproar about it.

once you go dedicated/lobby servers you dont look back

I can moan as much as I like, I don't need to the play the game to learn from others that custom public lobbies are not there and were in FM2. Hopefully the servers with more new options will be turned on Friday, maybe clutching at straws though...

I really can't see where you'd be able to see any kind of server browser/list, there's just no option in the menus.

It seems to me it's either with the public in matchmaking where you can choose race type and that's all, or a private match with friends which is customisable.

No problem when setting up a none ranked game with mates but as what your telling me, on a ranked public server you cant filter out certain settings.

Can you please check if damage is fully on at least on public racing? As it stands, you can ONLY race on your prefered settings with mates. what if your mates are offline?

The thing is i wont debate on this much further as peope will start calling me a sony/GT5 fanboy again so im keeping myself humble about this but deep down this is worser than any of the "flaws" i have famously mentioned.

Now i diddnt get ****** straight away as i am HOPING lobby browsing and custom races appear tomorrow.

i've just been on T10.net and there are a few other things about this game which are borked

oops.

Just a standard version for me tomorrow then, i aint putting an extra £15 in the coffers of T10/M$ if they can't make some basics correct on release and dare i say what's more, have likely gagged the press or those with early discs from speaking about these issues - strange its only the poor paying punter who's discovered them in a tenth of the time these VIPs have had the green discs

still at the heart of it there will be an SP game thats good and playable and hopefully i can get online in a private lobby with a few of you good chaps - ADD ME if you want to race tomorrow, i'll be on all day

SP will bore me after a weeks play just like forza 2.
