Through The Fire and Flames ? You're merely in the realms of an uncomfortable sleep.... but don't fret - the nightmare will be with you all too soon as you move up levels LOL

Congrats so far

I've got fairly good at Medium after sucking at Easy, but I don't think I'll ever be doing Hard.

Medium isn't too bad, but Hard and Expert .

Re: Yay beat GH3

The difference in skillset between Easy and Medium is much greater than Medium and Hard.

The first major stumble after beating easy the first time is using your little finger.. I believe Yahtzees review stated it becomes a "Gnarled Pork Scatching" from lack of use! Once you have the little beast tamed you will find out how much fun it is playing on Med / Hard.

I used to think the same, I've been playing for nearly 8 months now and I completed World Tour and Aerosmith on Hard last week and I'm now half way through expert. I'm near the end of Hard on GH3 and I've done a few expert songs on there too. You do slowly get better over time so you will be on hard eventually if you keep practicing.

Re: Yay beat GH3

I also recently completed the game on easy, having bought it cos of the recent HMV offer. Had a blast, and have started on medium, but I guess I should probably try and five star all easy at some point, rather than leaving them at four stars! Managed to 100% one of the tracks on easy as well, which gave me quite a buzz.

Re: Yay beat GH3

Yeah well done. I love Guitar hero too but my limit also is medium. Not started medium on GH3 yet but only failed a few times on Med GH2. Really quite satisfying but that really is my limit, could never complete a hard or expert song so really no point in the frusration. FAR too hard really.
But at least it has other difficultys. If it started on hard then i would have smashed my guitar in true Rock an Roll style on day one.

You got that right! Well done though mate. I'm utter mince at GH3. First time I've played GH and I can only play it on easy. I did at least manage to get 5 stars on all the songs though. That's hardly worth boasting about though eh?

How people play it on hard or expert I'll never know.

Re: Yay beat GH3

I started on easy when GH2 came out and 5* all mediums mediums within a fortnight and sold the guitar and game on ebay for a slight profit (was a shortage at the time). Back then hard seemed exactly like the description, hard!!

Then got GH3 when that came out and limited myself to medium. However, when Rock Band was released I found the medium to be a bit easy, so knocked it up to hard. Best thing I ever did (rhythm game wise!).

My recommendation for the jump for medium to hard would be to play some Rock Band songs as the difficulty bar is the lower end of hard if that makes sense!!

I was laughing at the (un) intentional pun!

Re: Yay beat GH3

Medium to hard is the harderst jump, especially on GH. The real trick is just to focus as much as possible every time you shift you left hand. It just takes time. Then, expert is just a harder version of hard, the natural progression of having gained more skill by playing on hard.

Hint: If you are stuck on the seventh set of hard or higher, start expert. The 5th set of expert is significantly easier than the last set of hard.
