Pre-owned Guitar Hero II problems

Hi

After picking GH III from HMV for £35 (new) a couple a weeks ago I stumbled across a pre-owned GH II in Game for £25. This seemed pretty reasonable, giving me a second guitar (mainly for the kids) as well a load of extra tracks (the alternative being to get World Tour for £65).

Only thing is, there is no shoulder strap and the whammy bar seems loose (works ok, but drops to 6 o'clock position when released). So....

1) I've made a temporary strap using the detachable strap from a holdall, but is there anywhere that sells spares (I assume a real strap would probably work).

2) Is it normal for the whammy bar not to hold it's position (like it does on the GH III guitar) and if not can it fixed easily?

Cheers

Chris

Re: Pre-owned Guitar Hero II problems

Personally i would take it back and get a refund, not sure what rights you have when taking back a pre-owned guitar.
I had one of these and my wammy bar was a bit 'floppy' but after around 4 months of continuous use.

World tour ones seems much more durable.

Im selling a world tour guitar if your interested its brand new (had load of game points that needed to use and bought the pack and game, only wanted the game)

Re: Pre-owned Guitar Hero II problems

That was my first thought, but I figured I haven't seen GHII (game) pre-owned around much and it was usually about £25 anyway, so worth keeping for the game and the guitar as bonus, even if not perfect.

Having said that I ran through the game and tbh wasn't that impressed with the track list so probably going back now anyway.

Cheers

Take it back (although i like the track listing on 2) and get World Tour from Argos for £48 (WT is dead easy to play ,unlike 3 )

Presume that's a typo and you meant £78? HMV by me has them for £65.

I found GH3 dead easy to play, as long you keep it on 'easy'

Maybe I'm being unfair to the track list, it's probably more rock biased than the later games (musically I prefer Kaisers, Killers etc to Kiss, Iron Maiden etc but I don't think of them as guitar rock bands so I guess I'm biased).

Cheers

They was £48 at argos, but their full price again now. If you know someone with a student HMV card you will get 10%

The GH:II gutars are notorious for the droopy whammy bar i believe there are few fixes out there check google.

As far as straps i was in HMV today getting some silencers for my drums and they had some straps for the guitars at £9.99.
