See the thread in the guitar Hero section "The video we've all been waiting for"! (cant be bothered to link it)

Cant believe this is out Friday, and I havent placed a preorder anywhere!!! I cant see it being cheap in the Supermarkets either, so not sure what to do really. I know I'm gonna want to play it immediately, but at the moment I just cant pull my finger out.

Re: Official Rock Band 2 Preview Thread (UK Release: November 21st 2008)

I will be getting this, but have to say the horrible price of LIVE Points has really dampened my enthusiasm for RB at the moment.

Kind of bored of all the tarcks I have. But I was getting 4200 points for just over £25 and now can't find any for less than ~£33.....

That is a big increase when you look at how many points RB eats up.

/waits for the stingy scrooge replies

I'm in the same boat. I was going to get the Foos album, but I only have 1490 points. I'll get the Killers pack, but the Foos album will have to wait until I can get some cheaper points.

Au contraire. There's a LIPS promotional pack available on Tesco's website. If you buy two, add the FreeDel code and go via QuidCo then it works out £25.73 for 4200MSP

i think that may have just decided the fate of my GH:WT gear.

i dont think i can do with the GH pedal, it need s to be fixed and hard wearing, the RB drum kit was fine but needed cymbals, now with these add ons at a reasonable price. i'm gonna get the RB2 drums with the cymbal add on and return the gh KIT.

Re: Official Rock Band 2 Preview Thread (UK Release: November 21st 2008)

I thought that promotion was not available until later this month?

I'll try to find it - if anyone has a link that would be cool.

Never used Quidco...will have to check it out.

This is the link:

Tesco Entertainment

They are available from this coming Friday (and shipping details state they will be sent out on release date).

Madness to not use QuidCo imo if you buy regularly online; in the short time I've been doing so I've got back over £100 and counting

Re: Official Rock Band 2 Preview Thread (UK Release: November 21st 2008)

Surely if the RB2 instruments were going to be available this Friday then somewhere would be advertising them by now? Looks to me like we're gonna have to wait for the instruments although to be honest I'll use the GH:WT guitar for now and probably pick the drums up later when I've seen some opinions of the drum kit.

But Yano said adding compatibility to Rock Band and GHWT would be easy. "It's not something we can do, obviously [the games would require a patch]. I mean, I hope so for Rock Band, Guitar Hero. It won't work out of the box but it's relatively easy to kind of get it going," he told MTV.

So, Harmonix and Neversoft, it's up to you

Right m8.

In rb1 menu find an option for importing tracks.
This will cost you 400 ms points.
Once complete, simply load up rb2 and in the track list there'll be all your dlc (symbolised by a downard pointing arrow) and all rb1 tracks and some rb2 tracks (notable by a little 1 or 2 in a circle at the beginning of the track title).
You'll only have about 15 rb2 tracks in the list until you progress thru the career and open the rest up. Easy peezy!

The Export Licence will let you transfer all the songs bar Paranoid, RTTH & Enter Sandman (licensing issues). Once done the RB1 songs will become usable in RB2.

You might want to keep your RB1 disk if you like those songs a lot, or want to work through the Achievements, or nostalgic reasons. Or all three. I did

I like it as well (one of the reasons I am keeping RB1) just a little annoying that the yanks can still download it but we cant.
