Re: DLC for 3rd November - Foo Fighters, Nirvana, Joan Jett

a good week and I shall be picking up all of these

Anyone else think its strange that there have been so many Foo's packs already?

I am in no way complaining about this, I would just think they would spread them out a bit more.

they do seem to like releasing foos tracks but im also not complaining. Ive been waiting for best of you, the pretender and breakout (On Lego) to come out for ages. It has got to the point though where i cant remember which foos tracks are out!

I am a little dissapointed that the Nirvana tracks aren't the missing nevermind tracks but you cant have it all.

Re: DLC for 3rd November - Foo Fighters, Nirvana, Joan Jett

I'm disappointed with the meagre selection of songs. If the Foo Fighters songs are charted anything like previous Foo songs they will be amazing on drums but incredibly dull and unremarkable chordfests on guitar. (Everlong epitomises this). The Color and the Shape is still easily the weakest album so far on RB for guitar/bass. The same applies to the Nirvana songs as well.

Yeah its not a great week fro guitarists given the past performance of foo's and nirvana. Still some classic songs for fans and i'm sure there'll be some drumming gems that i might pick up.

i think its more down to the style of the foos music than the charting of the songs.
what do you want them to do add stuff that isnt on the song?

No, he's just noting that in his experience (which, given that he has all of the RB DLC, is a lot) the Foo Fighters songs are not very interesting to play on guitar and bass.

i disagree.
he commented on the charting of the foo fighters songs, stating that they are "dull and unremarkable chordfests", this isnt due to the way its been charted but the way grohl wrote the song.

just incase you missed what he wrote

if the foo's songs are nothing but chordfests in real life to play on guitar, how on earth are harmonix supposed to change this?

I'll forgive the slightly patronising tone of your response (I can read ) and in turn disagree with your disagreement.

None of what he wrote actually means that he is asking for them to be charted differently to how the songs are actually played on real instruments. He's just observing - as he is well within his rights to do - that they are boring to play on guitar and bass (and is clearly not alone in this view). Well, that's how I read it anyway...

which to me implies they couldve been charted differently so to be less boring.
they can only work with the music in front of them.

i agree with him on this, i never said otherwise. but i dont see how this could change unless you call up mr grohl and ask him to change his guitar style in songs

Re: DLC for 3rd November - Foo Fighters, Nirvana, Joan Jett

Handbags at dawn!

It's much like i find many punk songs really boring on drums, the same (often frantic) thing for 3-5 mins, while my mates rocking out... some song-charts just arent fun for one type of instrument.

It's not the fault of the dev, thats just how its written by the songwriter/composer, and personally i prefer it this way than *cough* some games which try to "fun it up" by adding stuff which isnt there. One just has to suck it up if that song is picked, or not buy a song you dont like.

Re: DLC for 3rd November - Foo Fighters, Nirvana, Joan Jett

As someone who's bought all of the previous albums/packs from the Foos, I think I'm going to be picky this time around and just go with the two classics. They're a great band and I've had no problems with their charting for the most part but they really are becoming overpopulated on the platform.
