Angry Aaaargh not again!

My 360 ate my 2nd Rock Band 2 disc last night. Anyone else had issues with their discs getting scratched. All my other discs are fine it's just been my RB2 discs that it seems to hate. Gonna have to check the classifieds or pop down to game or HMV today to get my 3rd disc...

Re: Aaaargh not again!

im having issues with my game. Think it might be the disc. I can only occassionally connect to live games. all other times it times out and says i must be connected to xbox live (which i am as i can see friends online etc). I've e-mailed HMX about itbut they havent come back to me. It must be the disc as RB1 works fine as does COD4.

I also had to un-install it from my hard drive as it wouldnt go into quick play. When you selected green for solo quickplay, it would just freeze. Works fine running off the disc but now i have an aeroplane taking off in my living room everytime i play. Tried re-installing and the same thing happened.

Re: Aaaargh not again!

I was having Band Quickplay problems the other day but put that down to Live being messed up. Can't say I've had the disc scratching problem though. That sucks.

Never had mine stood up. Always have it lying down that's why I am so annoyed. I have had about 50 different games in that 360 but it only does it to the RB2 discs. very weird. I guess I just have to get another disc...

Dont forget about the Fixing service GAME do. Fixed unplayable bad scratch on my mates Fifa '09, well mine now as we swapped when he goosed his by moving 360 when on and i got it fixed.
Take it in and see, will work for sure after.
Weird problem tho but discs are identicle so would think it wouldnt matter which disc, mayb just unlucky.
Dont go buying another till you try that.

Re: Aaaargh not again!

Really long shot but is there any chance that the rock band disks could be a little thicker than normal disks ?

Because I have once or twice added a full face sticky label to a disk & it completely shattered in the disk tray, weird but anyway that could be the problem ?

If by some chance it does turn out to be that you could take it to game & get the front side shaved down abit instead lol.

Yes that is what I have been thinking. I have loads of games and none of them have a single scratch on them yet I am now on my 3rd Rockband 2 disc. Oh well....

Re: Aaaargh not again!

Install the game on the hard drive and it shouldn't give you too much problem as it only checks the disk in the drive at start up.

Re: Aaaargh not again!

you'd think so wouldnt you but mine runs fine (except not connecting to the rock server half the time) and crashes all the time if i run it from HDD.

Done that 1st time round. Doesn't work. It still uses the disc to access or maybe check settings but even when on Hdd it will still crash. Not to mention I only have 1.2 Gig left on my Hdd.
