Yep. And according to an interview with a developer, the three albums are all we should expect this year.

I bet they will cost a fortune. The Oasis album on GHWT is about £15

I know it's Rubber Soul, Sgt Pep, but what's the third?

Re: The Beatles:Rock Band Play & Help Thread

Been playing the game for an hour and completed about 12 songs on medium only got 5 stars on one song been playing on meedium. I think you need to get about 95% to gt 5 stars.
It is not as hard as the other guitar hero/rock band games out there but it is more fun for me as I love the beatles and it is great seeing the women scream and boys on stage the graphics are the best in the series so far.

This may seem like a daft question, but do the normal Rock Band instruments work with this?
I'm thinking particularly of the Ion drums.

Quick review

Drums- Can't compare to anything else but they seem responsive and are a little noisy but nothing ridiculous. Pedal seems solid enough and would take a bit to break i think.

Hofner Bass - Fits me well not needing to stretch and keys seem better than the GH2 guitar i used previousley. Whammy bar is also better then the GH2 one. Only bit of negative is that the strum bar seems a bit spongey and not very definite when used.

As i said the mic will not get used until i have someone round brave enough My vocals would make it sound like thier was something wrong even when its not

Any specific questions ask away

All in all i'm very pleased and they will get a lot of use will prob pick up RB2 at somepoint aswell if i find it in stock anywhere

Its actually based on score rather than percentage so use your overdrive (sorry beetlemania!) wisely. Try and activate it when you have a 4x multiplier and there is a lot of notes at once (particulary 2 note chords) and you will find you 5* songs much easier.

Had a go earlier and while the presentation is fantastic, I was a little dissapointed. The drums were a bit too repetetive for my liking. I prefer a little more complexity rather than just hi-hat snare bass the songs i played mainly seemed to be. I know that wasnt ringos style so its to be expected but still. Cant think of a song from RB to liken them too. Maybe buddy holly. Hopefull there will be some better ones as I move through the chapters.

That said, some of them were quite good fun to play and I love how you activate overdrive. Can we have this in RB3 please. The guitar tracks seem a little better than the drums but if your a seasoned player, you wont have much trouble.

Not sure how much longevity the game has for me. I like the beatles sure and I havent played a song yet that i dont know but it just doesnt have the variety that RB has. Again, its to be expected I guess i was just expecting a little more.

Overall it is a good game and if your a music game fan or a beatles fan, its a good purchase.

Re: The Beatles:Rock Band Play & Help Thread

Right - got this today and have been playing with my family and because of this have been stuck on guitar and bass. I am interested that everyone says its much easier than other games, as I have been playing expert on both and have got 5 stars on about 4 of the 12 songs I have played - on RB I usually do much better, but they are still very challenging. Not tried drums yet (will break out the Ions at the weekend) but did have a go on singing but it sounded as bad as normal - the Beatles makeover didnt help me

Fantastic presentation and graphics too. Shame I am too busy staring at the notes to take much notice in them. They have also nicked the pause countdown timer from GH, which is a big bonus and I like all the little extras you can earn such as pictures and challenges.

Only got to the third tier so far but really enjoying it.

I will agree. This game is just awesome. I also missed hearing that ding too. I said to my daughters over the weekend when we were playing, "Notice you can't hear that little noise now when you get a star?".

I am not sure if this is just me, or something faulty, but I play on an Ion Drum Rocker and either this game is a hell of a lot stricter on the timing windows now, or my foot pedal (Still using the standard Ion one) is packing up, or even the (I hope not!) brain itself, but I find kick drum notes dropping randomly here and there lately.

Cracking game though. Anyone still waiting and looking forward to this is in for a treat

have you calibrated it properly? That might be why. the timing windoes seem the same for me. I calibrated mine when i first got it and it didnt feel quite right either. I was dropping notes i felt i shouldt be. Calibrated it again and the setting were only 2 or 3 ms out but it made alot of difference. Mine is spot on now.

Also I take back what i said about the drums being boring. Some of the stuff later on in the story is great fun

And have to say Throughly enjoying it.........

(YEAHHHH MAAAAAAAAN )

Cool game , excellent graphics....I will be setting up the mic stand tomorrow and see how it goes......

Just the one Negative Comment (from my 17 year old Daughter )
That the Drums are boring to play........She likes all the songs though ...

I haven't tried calibrating no, mainly because on my two LCDs (Philips 8404 and Sony V5500 which I have upstairs) in game mode, I get no drum fill lag and everything is spot on in Game Mode, I never even needed to calibrate those games at all (I don't use a sound system at the moment either). Everything is spot on with The Beatles: Rock Band also (Guitars, Drums) except now and again the kick drum will drop notes, which made me think that maybe it is on the way out.

I will try a quick calibration though in a few and see how that goes

Good to know, i might pick it up now.

If one can only play hard drums* on RB2, will Beatles be easier enough to play Expert? So many reviewers say its so much easier, but i think they're mostly talking about guitaring.

* Well Expert on easy stuff like Eye of the Tiger, Medium for stuff like Battery, Hard for things inbetween like Alive, Laid to Rest or Reeducation Thru Labour

Think expert is doable for most songs. 'Get Back' is hard on expert though, just due to the timing even though the rhythm is very repetitive (3 snare, kick).

I can play it on real drums with little problem, but crash out in the game during the intro! Must be a very slight lag and sure once I tune into the timing of it, it will be fine! Great song tho...

Re: The Beatles:Rock Band Play & Help Thread

Was on this all last night, got up to the last level, rooftop i think.

Initially bit meh about it, but its grown on me massively already.

Played through it switching from bass to guitar, some of the bass track are so cool! There was 1 track that was wonderful to play but forgot what it was.

Sang a few tracks too. Tried the harmonies tutorial and harmonies are hard!

Didn't see much of the dreamscapes as i was watching the notes. Presentation is best ever in a music game, i totally love how they have done the pictures, rewards, etc.

The way you can track you achievement progress is superb, no more searching the internet to see how to get a achievement or wondering how close you are to getting one.

Not touched drums yet, i can imagine some drumming being abit repetitive, and i very much doubt i'll get the buzz playing drums with Beatles track as i do with the Metallica tracks. So i'll prob get GH:M back when i can find it cheap.

Who else has got Beatles songs running round their head today?
