Ripping DVD's for Streaming. What format?

Hi All

Whats the best format to rip DVD's to for streaming to the 360.

Best quality possible really, disk space no issue as such.

So , XVID or MP4 perhaps.

Best to google it slim, any chat on here would get shut down fairly quickly regardless of the fact you want to Rip DVDs you own.

Re: Ripping DVD's for Streaming. What format?

Eh..

I'm asking what is the best/optimail format to rip my own DVD's in order to stream them.

If that topic of conversation is outlawed then I'll be leaving this forum for good. What a joke.

What is the difference between me asking what format to rip to , and other people asking how to convert existing formats (X264) to something the 360 plays. I see no difference (apart from the fact that I've got to be in possession of the DVD to rip it!, au contrair for anything else!)

Some more info here for you here http://www.avforums.com/forums/xbox-...m-xbox360.html

Don't get me wrong, you have done nothing wrong to ask. Its difficult to discuss codecs and software without it becoming a resource for piracy. I'm not saying its right or wrong but it is my understanding that a thread of that type would get closed.
